La Dolce Vita began in the fall of 2004. We wrote a bunch of songs, played a bunch of shows, and in January of 06 we did a two-week tour with the late great Birds Of Fire. Now, after much delay, our album is a done deal. Pick it up at a show or grab it at The Underground or Melody Records in Chico. Either way it's only five bucks. In any event, we're around. For a few months everybody thought we broke up, but of course we didn't. Drop us a line.
Support the destruction of Ordinance 9.40. Chico has gone too far and is trying to take away 1st, 4th, 5th, & 6th Ammendment Rights. Sunday the Maltese, Monday Lost on Main....
Come sign the petition now or lose your right to help make the choice. When we say now, we mean now cause after Dec 5th you can no longer make the choice, CHICO gets to make it for you.
Chico, please help spread the word: Referendum Petition circulating in Chico, please sign it.
We, with the help of our attorneys and Ed's Printing, have prepared the petitions for a referendum against the Disorderly Events ordinance. The ordinance limits our right to assemble and is a gross infraction of our civil rights. We have already gathered hundreds of signatures but need people to help gather more. We need 7,000 registered voters in the City of Chico to sign the petition to insure that we gather the necessary amount after invalid signatures are thrown out. We have until December 5th. There will be several events held to raise awareness and funds for our cause. Please sign the petition and help in any other way that you can. We will be at the Saturday Morning Farmers Market (8am-1pm) and at Woodstock's Pizza every Tuesday and Thursday (5-7pm).
**It is our duty as citizens of a democratic society to participate in the democracy to insure not only that our own interests are represented but also that the interests of others are not allowed to supersede the welfare of the People.**

"Disorderly Events" ordinance meeting in Chico City Hall
****I would like to add that
1) who is going to decide if your band is punk/hardcore/metal or if people are actually "moshing"?
2) new events ordinances to discourage dancing are bad (ie. allowing the PD to arrest people if they refuse to stop dancing).
3) if you love Chico, please read this closely and get all your friends to go with you to the meeting on Tuesday, July 17th, 6:30 pm at the Chico Council Chambers, 421 Main Street (the place downtown with fish fountain out front).
PLEASE REPOST****

On page 3, section B: "A disorderly event is an event at which a person or persons... Make rough bodily contact with other persons or engage in 'slamming' in which participants collide their bodies into each other or... Launch themselves from a stage or similar raised platform into a crowd."
"All persons attending a disorderly event shall immediately disperse upon the order of a police officer. All persons not domiciled at the location of such event shall then immediately leave the premises. No person shall fail or refuse to obey and abide by such an order."
Under the Penalties section: "A person violating, or causing a violation of, any provision of this chapter is guilty of an infraction. A separate offense is committed for each and every hour or part of an hour during which any such violation is committee or caused or permitted to continue. Each offense is punishable separately from every other offense. This punishment shall be
