I've been simply hiding underneath my blankets and comforter today. Sometimes it's nice to be lazy. At least I'm warm! LOL...Mood: mellow mellowPosted 1 hour ago view more

Geez...of course, there is always the bewitching magick of "the Moonwalker...the Gloved One...the King of Pop". After all, tell me if at one point in time in our daily existences there wasn't at least one of Michael Jackson's songs that wasn't a part of the soundtracks of our lives and that the man didn't somehow dance his way into your heart and put a smile on your face or that the lyrics in his music didn't make you stop and think about things every now and then--"Black or White," "Earth Song," "Man In the Mirror," and "They Don't Really Care About Us" make a good case and point there. That and during the 80's who DIDN'T own a copy of "Thriller" or "Bad" or both of them? C'mon...don't lie. Most if not ALL of us at least owned "Thriller." His untimely death has left an empty and gaping hole in humanity's collective spirit no matter what you think and feel about this man. Anyway, yes...I cried when the heartbreaking news of his death came. I had the gift of being able to enjoy listening to and watching him nearly 40 yrs.--egadz! So for me, it was like losing a precious best friend. It breaks the heart, and I'll always miss him the most... As for others, just gimme that ol' time 80's Hair-Band style rockin', throw in some Country, and a dash of Alternative style. I am known to enjoy a good dose of Blues, Jazz, and New Age from time to time. Even more, I listen to the "Masters" (Beethoven, Chopin, and Mozart) once in a while too. Just leave the rap and hip-hop out of things, and all is good with this gal.
  • Movies

Too many to list in this category. In simple terms: Too many DVD's around the house and we don't even want to begin to discuss my Star Wars collectibles! Yes, many DO date back to 1977 if you are wondering.
  • Television

I'm really not into TV because to be quite honest, it simply sucks, and if not for the Kid--I could probably live without owning a TV set. However, I do love football (Go PACKERS!) and baseball. Yes...I unashamedly cheer for the Chicago Cubs!!!
  • Books

    All time classics...
    And, of course...
Let's put it this way...I could open my own little library. I'm no fan of paperbacks however. (The book bindings always wear out.) I prefer hardcover. My "library" consists of both Fiction and Non-Fiction, ranging from Aromatherapy to Witchcraft, throw in some Mystery, Romance and Sci-Fi too. Besides, most witches that I know are well-read and have quite a book collection to show for themselves anyway. I'm no different.
  • Heroes

Being minus a Mom since the age of 5 has led me to be influenced by those individuals who demonstrated courage in the face of adversity, who "tell it the way it truly is", and those who showed fearlessness in simply being themselves--plus and minus--good and bad because without that duality, we may all forget that we are all very human. So, my heroes list is as follows: George Carlin, David Carradine, Bill Clinton, Hillary Rodham-Clinton, Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Amelia Earhart, Mahatma Gandhi, Katherine Hepburn, Michael Jackson, Helen Keller, Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis, Edward M. Kennedy, John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King Jr., Bruce Lee, John Lennon, Abraham Lincoln, Maxine (the cartoon character), Marilyn Monroe, Bettie Page, George S. Patton, Princess Diana, Queen Elizabeth II, Ayn Rand, Ann Richardson, Eleanor Roosevelt, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Margaret Sanger, Barbara Stanwyck, Gloria Steinem, Elizabeth Taylor, Mae West, and last but far from least...
