I listen to pretty much anything. I was raised on Country music, was dragged into pop in Middle School, tried to be cool in High School by listening to Alternative and Rap. My computer is also filled with some classical, some Celtic (Loreena McKennitt, etc) As well as some industrial, Goth, Techno, Christian/Gospel, Jazz, Oldies.... Well, I said anything, didn't I? As of late, my interest in music has a tendency to shift quite frequently. For the past year or so I have come to appreciate the sound of such groups as Sleepthief, Within Temptation, Kamelot, Lunascape (Yes, I know she's not really a "group" but oh well. lol ) and many others. My music collection has also been speckled by some Blue Stone, The Cruxshadows, Tristame, Amanda Somerville, and many many others that it seems the world has yet to fully get to know. Some day I'll be able to buy CDs for all of them in the US... or anywhere.
Movies
It is far too tough for me to pick favorite movies. In the martial arts category, I would say Fist of Legend (Jet Li) though since the movie Fearless, its a close call between the two. Iron and Silk is another great one, though a different genre of martial arts movie, I suppose. I am a huge Al Pacino fan so give me Godfather and Scarface any day. Scent of a Woman was good for a different flare of Al Pacino. And who can forget Johnny Depp because Pirates of the Caribbean was awesome. Yay Captain Jack Sparrow. I'll stop here or I'll just start listing movies.... OH, the original Transporter was WONDERFUL along with more recent movies such as Chronicles of Narnia Prince Caspian and Iron Man... Oh, yeah, I said I was stopping...
But... For fun... since I love Monty Python and Star Trek:

Television
I'm a huge fan of the show So You Think You Can Dance, even moreso now that we've started taking ballroom dance lessons. This category used to be easier when I didn't have television. Heroes has become a favorite show of mine. Every week I can be found watching So You Think You Can Dance because I love to watch Ballroom dancing. Whose Line Is It Anyway. I love my Greg Proops and Ryan Stiles... and Colin Mochrie. I enjoy Adult Swim... And The Daily Show with Jon Stewart. Family Guy is usually a must and if I'm REALLY bored... some of those reality TV shows are great for a laugh. Will you accept this rose? ;)
Books
Books.... I have an odd collection but if we are going with favorites... I have to say Ann Rice and her Vampire Chronicles. I know I know.... Don't say it. It's not for LESTAT! I like my Armand and Marius... *pout*
Heroes
I have a lot of heroes, but I would have to say that I have a great deal of respect for both of my martial arts instructors. I hope to someday be as good of a teacher to young kids as they were and still are to me. My mother, obviously, for the strong woman that she is. I am proud to be her daughter. I could keep listing them, but I'll just leave it at that for now.

About me: I decided it was time to update my page since its been edited and added to and taken away from for the past few years. It was starting to look a little old and just thrown together. To start, my name is Melissa. I underwent open heart surgery a few months ago as some of you may know so I apologize for looking horrible in my pictures. I've since lost like a bazillion pounds so YAY ME! Other than that - I am a martial artist and have been training in the style of Korean Tang Soo Do for almost 14 years now. Just shy of. I am a fourth dan (degree) black belt. I also hold the rank of second chieh Brown Sash in Praying Mantis Kung Fu as well as a ninth chieh White Sash in Tai Chi. Over the years I have dedicated much hard work and practice into competition in the state and nationally though recently I had the opportunity of competing on the USA World Team in 2007. We traveled to Karlsruhe, Germany to compete and I came home a World Champion, taking the gold medal in Women's Korean Forms. I also took a bronze medal in Women's contemporary forms. I am on the USA team again for the 2008 World Championships in Orlando, Florida and I hope to bring home another gold. Over the years I have also held the title of State Champion several times for Women's Open Forms and years ago even took a Triple Crown State Champion title for weapons, forms, and sparring. I know all this talk makes me sound conceited but I'm rather proud of my accomplishments. A lot of hard work and dedication can go a long way. Outside of the martial arts I also take Ballroom Dancing lessons from a wonderful couple who I am blessed to have gotten to know. In my free time I like to write, currently trying to complete a novel that I have been working on for over six years now. I am a gamer, I admit fully. I enjoy Table top gaming as well as LARP and on line RPGs. I occasionally can be found playing DDR if I am really bored and feel like looking silly. Currently I work as a Communications Operator, basically dispatcher, at the local police department. I consider myself a good person and have been told by many that I'm too nice but I see no fault in that. Other than that, there's not too much more to say about me.

No I can't do the demo... I wanted to but we'll be camping. We're going to celebrate my cousins birthday while we're camping in the u.p. but yeah. Peace&&Love,, ♥;; Avery
I still practice every once in a while on my own, but there are no schools down where I am that are even close to the calibur that dragon is. I've seen adult blackbelts that were worse then some of the young orange belts we've trained.
I've been alright, and it pretty much has been forever, about 5 years I think. Heard you guys are going to the WKA championships in Orlando this august. I may drop by.
