Lady Bug is a female Hip-Hop rapper with a rhythmic vocal style that taps into the listeners every emotion. Lady Bug was born Junika Batiste on September 16th. A native of Port Allen, Louisiana, she discovered, while in junior high school, that she had a fascination with different sounds. Whether she was pounding away on the school bus window for the before and after school rap down, beating on imaginary drums at the dinner table, or making what her family then called irritating sounds with her voice. It was all beautiful music to her. For a 5th grade poetry project she wrote a Limerick poem that best describes the humor and seriousness she has always demonstrated when writing:
A birdie jumped up on my bed,
I tried to bust his stupid head!
When he tried to fly away,
He thought it was a joke and wanted to play,
So I grabbed his ugly face.
Lady Bug has been busy with many projects. She is adored by her My Space fans at myspace.com/ladybrap, because she is friendly, and personally replies to them, in a timely manner. Currently, she is promoting her new single “Chit Yeh (Shit Yeh). In addition, she is working on her debut, self-titled album “Lady Bug”, which is set for release in the fall of 2009. Many have said that she has the look of a Pop Princess, but the appetite [flow] of a beast. She has performed at various clubs, parties, and on mix tapes. Her rap style is influenced by Da Brat, Mia X, Lil’ Wayne, and Shawnna.
The essence of Lady Bug can be compared to that of the Coccinellidae, commonly known as the ladybug. Scientifically speaking, a ladybug is a small round, beautifully bright-colored, spotted beetle that usually feeds on aphids and other insect pests. Interesting enough, thousands of ladybugs are released into indoor and outdoor parks across the country as a natural means of pest control for its gardens. Lady Bug is a professional at what she does, and her job is to exterminate the airways of pestilent music that is marketed as great music.
Lady Bug is a SME (Subject Matter Expert) when it comes to her craft, and others have taken notice. Although she is working on her debut album, and performing in different venues, she still takes time out to show her family, friends, and community love.
