Sam's Interests
|
| General | I am a homemaker and i love being one. I'm just...not very good at it quite yet, LOL. I'm an old fashioned gal, and lean toward the crunchy side of things.
I LOVE ladybugs. I collect them. They're very special to me. I like to play the lamest games ever. I like The Sims, Nintendogs, Harvest Moon, Sudoku, Cooking Mama, and my current favorite: Brain Age. | | Music | | | Television | I'm a HUGE Lost fan. HEROES is also huge in my house. Medium, George Lopez, Friends, Avatar...lots more that I can't remember at the moment. Just about anything on PBS but the news hour, I'm not a news person, I prefer to read the news than watch it, and even then, I rarely do it. I love Nature and Secrets of the Dead and Antiques Roadshow...random indie documentaries that come on...
Wonderfalls! which unfortunately went off the air years ago after only showing a couple episodes. | | Books | I absolutely love to read, if i had the time i would be reading non stop, but my 4 year old thinks that mommy is very boring when she's reading and its rather annoying to have my concentration broken every minute or two so i'm limited to reading short articles or blogs, or message boards.
My Favorite Quotes:
We weren't created to know good and evil, we were created to know Him.
-anon
May those who love us, love us. Those who do not love us, may God turn their hearts. If he does not turn their hearts, may he turn their ankles, so we may know them by their limping
-anon
Life can be kind of peaceful when you stop struggling. Its a lot like drowning that way.
-Wonderfalls
If it were possible to raise children to perfection, God would have sent a parenting method, not Jesus
-Katiekind, Gentle Christian Mothers
"I think the 'do not spank in anger' line sums up the problem with spanking. If you're not angry, you can most likely clearly see a better way to deal with the problem than spanking."
- elcollins, Gentle Christian Mothers
"I choose to be gentle. If I raise my voice may it be only in praise. If I clench my fist, may it be only in prayer. If I make a demand, may it be only of myself."
-Max Lucado
"What do you desire? Shall I come to you with a rod, or with love and a spirit of gentleness?"
-1 Corinthians 4:21
"One cool judgement is worth a thousand hasty counsels.
The thing to do is supply light and not heat."
- Woodrow Wilson
Courage does not always roar, sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "i will try again tommorow"

About me:
Well, my name is Sam, I'm the mommy to my wonderful 4 yr old little boy Caleb, and wifey to my wonderful Hubby. My full name is Samantha, but I strongly prefer being called just Sam. I have 2 cats named Mungojerrie and Claudia and two rats named Pandora and Popcorn.

I live in Sunny California with my wonderful Hubby He is the most wonderful man in the entire world and i love him so very much. He works long hours in the heat for a job that he hates just so that i can stay at home with my son *sniff* When he comes home at night, we're still very happy to see each other, if that’s not love, i don't know what is. We'll be married 5 years on December 3rd. We had a rough start in the beginning, not being able to see each other because of my parents, but after going through all that you take a lot of time wondering if it’s all worth it, and I’ve always been able to answer YES. We’ve been together for 8 years, and married for 5.

I’m a gentle Christian mom. I practice grace based discipline. My son is awesome. He is such an intense little guy. I think intense is the most fitting word. He's very high needs, always has been. But he's just so awesome and so cute. Very high needs, very high energy, very high touch, very curious, very smart, very frustrating, and very lovable and sweet. I love my little boy. He's got a bit of a speech delay and has been in speech therapy for a little over a year now. He just started preschool in August and I'm just starting to adjust to it. I'm still trying to think of what to do with all my free time :P

Who I'd like to meet:
I honestly have no one in particular I aspire to meet. I guess I'm not that interesting. I would love to actually see my IRL friends more often than I do.
