Sounds Like
"The music has serious power, energy and sincerity. This is impassioned alt rock" Evening Echo
Sounding at times like a more tuneful, less bombastic Smashing Pumpkins or a more urgent (less whiny) Snow Patrol." Cork Independent
"...cleverly thought out and colourful sounding guitars that drive all the songs along, which combine great sing-a-long pop song sensibility and credible indie act in equal measure.....
fantastically catchy and well executed songs that instantly live in the memory, and yet remain refreshingly original" Drumhead, www.musicreveiw.com
"..this is a sexy little window into Ladydoll and you will find yourself putting it on repeat. And repeat. Don’t say you haven’t been warned." Anne Marie Curtin, www.redtrackmusic.com
Ladydoll are an alternative rock quartet from Cork and have been together for 2 years. Having proved themselves in a number of live shows, they were nominated to take part in both the IMRO Showcase Tour, the National Student Music Awards and the 2FM 2Moro Tour in March 2007. They were also contacted by radio stations and labels in the UK and went on to play a handful of successful showcase dates in London during the summer 2007.
Early 2008 saw Ladydoll record their debut E.P Wax Lyrical which was well received by radio and national press. The E.P also earned them a place in the National Student Music Awards finals, as well as support slots to some of Irelands best known rock bands including Fighting With Wire, Giveamanakick and Kopek.
Ladydoll’s second recording, Honeybunny/Genetics a double single is due out late 2008. This second offering was recorded by ex-Cyclefly guitarist Ciaran O’ Shea and mixed by French producer Dimitri Tikovoi who most recently recorded and produced Placebo’s album “Meds“.
