Update - Jan 17 2008
Ladyfest Chicago was a great success and I am pleased to announce that we raised nearly three thousand dollars for our two charities - Chicago Women's Health Center and Rape Victim Advocates. I am still in the process of tying up some loose ends, but I promise this money will be donated soon. Things have been very hectic for me since Ladyfest Chicago ended.

Ladyfest Chicago is a multi-faceted four-day festival promoting women involved in arts and activism. It will utilize all-ages independent spaces to encourage and inspire a diverse community to come together in celebration of talent on local, national, and international levels. Like other Ladyfests around the globe, Ladyfest Chicago is volunteer-based with all proceeds benefiting charity. Men are more than welcome to attend Ladyfest events and join in the process of curating the festival, and submissions from men and women who work together are welcomed, but women must play the dominant role in organizing and structuring the festival. Ladyfest Chicago will feature and support musicians, artists, emcees, dancers, writers, crafters, poets, designers and ladies of all talents, emerging and established.
