Ladyfest Leicester’s core objective is to promote and celebrate the
creativity of women while raising money for good causes. Most music and arts
festivals are still male dominated; Ladyfest Leicester will help restore the
balance and provide a safe and comfortable environment for artists to
perform and exhibit their work. Ladyfest Leicester will be held over a
weekend in October with most of the events happening under one roof and all
happening simultaneously; and we will be showcasing music, literature, art
and workshops over the weekend.
We have a DIY ethos and and aim to build a collective community. Anybody is welcome to get involved...gay or straight, male or female and any ethnicity! Revolution Ladyfest Leicester Style:)
What Is Ladyfest
Ladyfest is a community based, not-for-profit global music and arts festival for female artists which features bands, musical groups, performance artists, authors, spoken word and visual artists, workshops, and is organized by volunteers. The origins of Ladyfest developed from the DIY ethic Riot grrrl movement from Olympia, Washington combined with inclusive feminist philosophy.
The first ever Ladyfest was conducted in Olympia, Washington in August 2000 with over 2000 people attending. Prime motivators in the event were Sarah Dougher, Sleater-Kinney, Cat Power, and Neko Case.
Since the first Ladyfest, the event has branched out into other urban centers such as Amsterdam, Atlanta, Belgium, Berlin, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Brooklyn, Columbus, Chicago, Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow, Lansing, London, Los Angeles, Melbourne, Orlando, Ottawa, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Diego, Toronto, Washington DC, and more. Each new festival is organized locally and independently of other Ladyfest events in other states or countries, primarily by volunteers, and most proceeds are donated to non-profit organizations. - Taken From Wikipedia

It lists over 50 zines and 10 distros and includes submission details, contact information, advertising rates, etc.
It's 44 A5 pages photocopied in B + W.
£1.50 (including UK postage --- outside UK check with me first). Will accept well-secured cash (sent at your own risk)/cheques/zine trades. NO PAYPAL OR FOREIGN CURRENCY.
Send me a message via this My Space profile for details of where to send payment/zine trades to.
Ooh, thanks very much for the offer of help, it would be greatly appreciated! We have our first big meeting next week and after that we'll have a clearer idea of where we're going and who's doing what.
We had a fabulous weekend at Ladyfest Leicester and got loads of ideas, there really seemed to be something for everyone!
Really enjoyed last night. Thank you so much for putting us on. I can't believe people were actually dancing to our music! What a great crowd. I have to say that every time I have seen DRAG I have loved them but last nights performance was definately the best for me. They were awesome and they just keep pushing it that little bit further each time. Great bunch to hang out with too. Still shocked at the response we got. Cant wait to get out there and do it all again. Well done LadyFest. Rock on!
Hey, hey, hey. Looking forward to today. Even though I have just got out of A+E I wouldn't miss it for the world :-) Hope everything goes well at your end. We can't wait. Its gonna be good to see DRAG play again and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest too. See ya later honey. Veilx
