About me:
LadyFest is a community based, non-profit, global, political music and arts festival for women and people supportive of gender equality. In addition to readings/lectures, workshops and parties, LadyFest features : music, sound, film, dance, theater, visual art, performances, media, literature, food, and fashion.
Developed from the "do it yourself" ethic of the RIOT GRRL movement and "inclusive feminist philosophy", LadyFest events are run by volunteers and proceeds are often donated to non-profit groups.
The first LadyFest was 8 years ago in Olympia Washington, and since then LadyFest has been organized all over the world, and each new LadyFest is organized locally and independently from the other festivals.
This is a call to form a primary planning group, for
LadyFest San Francisco '09.
LadyFest San Francisco welcomes ANYONE who is interested, open-minded and supportive of the primary aim of the festival: to promote gender equality.
The festival will be inclusive and accessible as possible for participants, organizers, and attendees.
