DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: Surprising blog statistics!
I wanted to share something with you all. My blog post on Domestic Violence has had more views than ANY blog that I have posted on MySpace...EVER. So far, I would say approximately 4 times more than my average blog views. And, I have been on MySpace for a few years now and have posted a lot of blogs.
This statistic surprised me. I did "share" this blog on quite a few sites just to help raise awareness on the subject. I don't know if it was that plus just a general interest in the subject.
Whatever the reason, I thought I would share this information with you. I guess it goes to show how Domestic Violence affects so many people. From the victims, the perpetrators, to the family and friends of them too. Really, Domestic Violence affects us all.
As I have mentioned, I have been both a victim and a perpetrator of domestic violence. I'm not proud of either of those facts and almost don't like sharing that fact. But, sometimes you have to be totally honest about yourself and your own experiences so that you can maybe help others. And, I'm happy to say that I have not been a victim and/or a perpetrator of domestic violence in quite a few years.
I have learned something in life. That is, there is nothing better than having peace and serenity in my mind and in my life. And, I try really hard to have that in my life and it isn't always easy. There are many people in the world that will test you. I've been tested before and I reacted in a bad way. I realize that I hurt myself the most when I do that.
I'm not here to preach because I am still a work in progress myself. But, I do believe that every day, I keep trying to be a better person than I used to be. I try very hard. Life is hard and some of us can handle/cope with things better than others. I'm not perfect and don't believe "perfect" can ever be an option for me (then again, who is perfect?)
It is November, a time for thanksgiving. Please enjoy the blog and videos on my site for the next few weeks as you reflect on being thankful.
