Rebecca is a freelance vocalist who works with many different musicians.
Influences
Rebecca has been influenced by the musical gifts of many artists, with the likes of Billie Holiday, Stevie Wonder, Ella Fitzgerald, Donny Hathaway, Patti LaBelle, Whitney Houston, among many others. She has also been heavily influenced by her mom, with whom she has shared many musical experiences, and her music mentors, Kamau Kenyatta and Derek Cannon.
Sounds Like
Rebecca's voice has been described as having chameleon-like qualities. Although the essense of her voice is very soft and sultry, she is able to adapt her voice to fit the style of a song as well as match the voice of other singers. Her true voice alone sounds like no one else.
Rebecca is a vocalist and has been involved with music for most of her life. Growing up in church and in a musical home, she has been exposed to a vast assortment of artists, genres and styles. Her own mother was a professional jazz singer in Puerto Rico. With such influences, it seems a natural progression that Rebecca has followed in her footsteps.
Rebecca has been singing professionally for the past six years since returning home from college. She has performed with many of San Diego's most sought-after musicians and at some of San Diego's best venues. She also has over 16 years of recording studio experience, from doing background vocals for other artists to working on her own project. Rebecca graduated in 2002 from UC Berkeley with a degree in Theatre and Performance Studies and has a Masters degree in Business with a Marketing emphasis from the University of Phoenix. She has also returned back to school, attending Grossmont College, to advance her studies in music.

cough's are terrible... i just got over a battle with a cold for a week or so. i hope you feel better soon. in terms of songwriting... you should totally ask sam to work on some songs for you. i'll contact him for you. i mean... i know we're nowhere near your caliber of musicianship... but if you ever need any sort of assistance... i'm sure i can speak on behalf of sam and let you know that we'd be more than willing to help you on anything. plus, sam loves to write tunes in general. so i'm sure he'd love to help. anyways, hope things get better and better. take care.
things are going well. he's been gigging more and more these days. so it's been slowly-but-hopefully-surely picking up. he's also been on this stint this year to write a 100 songs. he posts a video a week. you should check it out: http://www. youtube. com/user/GeunjinMusic
