SHEELA LANGEBERG aka Sheela Sheena, Internationally renowned and multi award winning playwright, director, author, storyteller, singer, African dancer and performer. She is one of the Australia's most thematic exports. One of the most
influential and written about Africans in Australia. Some critics have described her as simply; "Sheer Theatrical Magic"
Born, raised and educated in Tanzania before leaving for further studies in Scandinavia, Sheela resides now in Australia where she continues to pursue her hectic life style as an all-round artist, teacher and mother to her twins.
She has written and produced over 60 solo stage plays and musical dramas for all ages. Some of these works have won awards. Her children's book "NDITO THE MASAI GIRL" based on a true story was published in 2004. Like all Sheela's stories, "Ndito The Masai Girl" is also a stage play for school aged kids. A dozen more
stories including her own autobiography "UNDER THE RED JACARANDA" are looking for a publisher.
Sheela's also a poet and has written and performed 10 poems, 4 dance/text productions, two radio dramas and co-written an anthology with various writers around the world. Every year, for more than sixteen years now, Sheela has been touring
schools in Australia as part of the "National Book Week" each tour has been sold out weeks prior! Her award winning productions "MAIJA OF CHAGGALAND" which is a true story about her own mother's life, and "AFRICA" have being touring around the globe doing between 120-150 shows a year since staged for the first time in
1994.
In most cases, Sheela finds herself touring between 2-3 productions at one time. Her African dance/drama w/shops for all ages are also popular. Between Sept-Nov 2006, Sheela was in Sweden taking part in a highly anticipated production of "BLACK MADONNA" written especially for Sheela and with her in the leading role of
"MARY OF NAZARETH" the season was sold out!
She has also appeared in a few films and commercials especially in Australia and hoping to do more. Sheela is a consument and spellbinding performer. Her work has captivated millions around the globe. Those who've seen her continue to invite
her back year after year. Her style of writing has been described as unique. Her talents have mesmerized many. Her energy on stage has left many in owe. Her desirable looks continue to invoke interests from both the media and individuals around the planet. This is only the beginning of a story.

In "DREAM" Sheela has used her unique voice, the Tanzanian social life style, her expertise in storytelling, colour and landscape to create and develope charecterization of each track. Using solo A Capella style, Sheela has overlaid her voice octaves-blended those with modern instruments and sounds to create a new feel and journey into her music.
Ndito the Masai Girl, is a story about a little nomad girl. It's a story about dreams, courage, determination and a little bit of attitude. Ndito's story is colourful, educational, captivating, mesmerizing and spellbinding.
