LAFEMI was created in November, 2008 on the beaches of Tulum, Mexico. Shortly after their beginning they invited one of their best friends Gabo (La Casa de Agua, Pangea) to play bass. Jacques (Vibraphone) and Adrian (Saxophone), floating in from France, were the icing on the cake and with their presence something new emerged for LAFEMI and Funk, soul and Hip Hop blared out with influences of reggae, blues, jazz and traditional African rhythms.
This band was born by bringing together several musicians of different backgrounds to create a global fusion. Representing France, United States and Mexico, LAFEMI prides itself in one thing they all have in common: a universal language...MUSIQUE.
LAFEMI plays in city streets attracting hundreds of spectators, cameras and fans. LAFEMI is currently in the studio recording their first and long waited album, Children of the World.
