Bio
Through a combination of exciting rhythmic variety and superb musicianship La Fuerza has become one of the most popular and versatile Tex-Mex groups in Central and South Texas. Led by talented singer Ben Miranda, La Fuerza has played at many of Texas’ more prestigious nightclubs including: Raffles, Club Movida, Cadillac Bar, George’s Place and Grahams Central Station. Through dedication and attention to detail, Miranda always ensured his group remains a fan favorite around San Antonio. The group can switch effortlessly from the hottest in Mexican cumbias and Tejano polkas to pop, rock and disco. La Fuerza prides itself as a versatile group that can make any event standout and unforgettable. La Fuerza masterfully combines various elements to present their exciting shows including an ever-changing setlist, smooth harmonies, stage dynamics, crowd participation and party time energy. The result is a dance mix that comes alive. They inject new soul into their R&B, new fun into pop, and new energy into disco. The band, which was most recently on the Corpus Christi-based Q Productions record label, has ventured out on their own LF Records and are in the recording studio working on their debut indie record. “It’s a little intimidating but also exciting to finally be on our own label,” said singer Ben Miranda. “And while we did record for Q Productions for several years, we’re reuniting with (Grammy winning) record producer Gilbert Velasquez who actually helped us record our debut CD ‘Illusion’.” The right producer is vitally important for any group to record a solid production. “In our experience the producer is key in getting the vision of the album out to the general public,” he said. “Meaning he can take what we say or do musically, and translate it for all to enjoy.” La Fuerza’s latest CD is the cumbia-Tejano mix “Apretao,” and Miranda expects their new CD to offer much more. “The new CD will showcase what we enjoy the most – the spontaneous variety of our live showcases.” Miranda said. “We’re looking forward to the variety of unique Tejano music that we’ll record on the CD. I think the secret to our success is that we have fun on stage with our variety of good party music and we convey that sense of fun and excitement to the fans.” He said their upcoming album has been in the works for three years. “The new songs are a combination of songwriters who have written for us on past projects as well as a few of our own, from band member Ray Figeroa and local producer Richard Alanis.” Maintaining popularity and a steady following requires a lot of work and dedication but Miranda believes the fan feedback makes it all worthwhile. “The joy and energy a musician receives from sharing his craft with an audience is matched by no other,” he said. “You can not recreate it through any other medium or vehicle. It is the ultimate ‘natural high’ better than any x-game or drug you could dream of.” -
