In 2001 Lahmia emerges onto the Rome Metal Scene and immediately begins playing live in and around local clubs and venues. In 2003, after two years of intense live activity, the band gains popularity and is picked as finalists at the popular Italian music festival and competition "Emergenza Rock". A year later, the band has a parting of ways when the lead guitarist Ugo Bandinu decides to leave the band but, in January 2005 he is quickly replaced by Flavio Gianello who helps introduce the band to new sounds steering Lahmia's music towards a more melodic death metal group from their earlier sounds of thrash /goth.
January 2007 brings Lahmia to self produce its first promo CD called "An Eternal Memory" marking an important breakthrough in their style and evolution. This new CD would bring about a vast amount of positive feedback from both the general public and music critics alike.
In the summer of 2007 after only a few days of the opening of their official myspace page, Lahmia is chosen among 24 finalists in which the final 9 will be given an opportunity to play at the Gods of Metal 2007 festival (one of the most important European Live Metal Events of the year). In Autumn 2007 Lahmia is eager to begin playing live again and perform at Eutk Night (A Metal event sponsored by Eutk.net, one of the most important national Heavy Metal portal as well as the web-site of the Italian Edition of the magazine "Rock Hard"). Lahmia also plays at the "Metal Massacre" show, one of Rome's historical Metal shows held at Jailbreak, and in april support the incredible Illogicist (willowtip / candlelight) from Aosta.
In June 2008, Lahmia returns to Christian Ice's production studio Temple of Noise Studios to record their new professionally produced mini-CD "Forget Every Sunrise", a CD that represents many months of hard work in composing music, writing lyrics and recording the album.
This new album is a continuation of their evolution in melodic death metal that began with their first CD, defining their music, style and their influences.
Lahmia continues to play live at venues and clubs all over Italy and are active on the Italian Metal Scene

I Lahmia nascono nel 2001 a Roma e iniziano presto una costante attività live nei locali della città e della provincia che li porta, due anni più tardi, sino alle finali capitoline di Emergenza Rock. Nel 2004 il gruppo attraversa un periodo di difficoltà che porta alla separazione da Ugo Bandinu (chitarra solista) nel Gennaio del 2005, sostituito da Flavio Gianello con cui si ha un progressivo spostamento dalle sonorità thrash/gothic degli inizi ad un death melodico dalle molteplici sfaccettature ed influenze. Nel Gennaio del 2007 viene autoprodotto il primo mini-cd/promo "An Eternal Memory" che segna un passo importe nell'evoluzione stilistica del gruppo e che riceve immediatamente una eccellente risposta di critica e pubblico.
In estate, a pochi giorni dall’apertura del profilo myspace, è tra le 24 band finaliste per il concorso che darà a 9 di esse la possibilità di suonare al Gods Of Metal 2007. In autunno i Lahmia sono così pronti a riprendere un'intensa attività live, culminata con le esibizioni da headliner alla prima Eutk Night (organizzata la notte di halloween da EUTK.net all'8ttagono che ha registrato in questa occasione il record di incassi) e le apparizioni nella storica rassegna musicale MetalMassacre nel noto locale capitolino Jailbreak, di cui l'ultima in supporto agli Illogicist di Aosta. Le seguite e apprezzate performance live, le recensioni, i live report, e l'attività del profilo myspace, fanno circolare il nome e affermare i Lahmia come una promettente realtà dell'underground italiano.
Nei primi mesi del 2008 la band ritorna nuovamente ai celebri Temple Of Noise Studios di Christian Ice per registrare il nuovo materiale, frutto di un lungo ed intenso periodo di lavoro in studio. La nuova registrazione prosegue l'evoluzione stilistica iniziata dal precedente An Eternal Memory e definisce il sound della band come un death metal melodico poco canonico in cui si possono riscontrare molteplici influenze. La ricerca in fase di songwriting ha avuto come obiettivo quello di impiegare la maturità acquisita per costruire brani più compatti, organici e coerenti tra loro ma allo stesso tempo ancora più vari e personali.
A giugno del 2008 esce così il secondo mini-cd dei Lahmia dal titolo "Forget Every Sunrise", con cui il gruppo, per la prima volta, cercherà un contratto discografico ed un'etichetta interessata a produrli in futuro. Questa volta il prodotto è stato curato professionalmente non solo per quanto concerne le registrazioni, ma anche la grafica, le fotografie e la stampa sono state affidate a professionisti del settore.
I Lahmia ora sono pronti per riprendere l'attività live di supporto al nuovo lavoro con concerti da nord a sud della penisola e dopo l'estate sono già in programma esibizioni in compagnia di alcune tra le migliori realtà del panorama metal italiano che verranno comunicate secondo i tempi necessari.
