ABOUT ME:
I think my full bio would take too much room so I will just touch on some highlights.
I was born to make music. I was drawn to a piano at the age of 4 to try and create the song I was hearing in my head. As they say, it was all downhill from there lol. But in a way, it has been an uphill climb the whole way as I have been constantly learning and growing in my art. I play multiple instruments, including various percussion instruments. My specialty is making Beats. I have a real knack for making sounds blend together that aren't usually combined, yet somehow they end up sounding great. I believe that true artistry in anything is experimenting with ideas other have discarded, so I do my best to explore all possible angles to find something unique and moving in the sound I produce.
My mother tells me I was humming along to songs on the radio, in tune no less, since before I could speak in sentences so it's no surprise that I ended up singing the music and words that I was writing. I began to compose full songs, in proper form, at the age of 10. That's when I began experimenting with the guitar, because it was a more portable instrument... hey, I had to have my music man!
I did the whole music thing in high school, won awards and contests, all that jazz, was in multiple choirs as well as the high school bands. I went on to major in music in college and met up with a wonderful professor who had been the musical director to The Lettermen (there is one for you old school bufff's) and since my dad had been such a fan of that group, I figured this guy might have something to teach me. Yet he told me many times I taught him some new things. I think it was a pretty even exchange, and he enriched my art by being encouraging and supportive while I searched for my own sound.
It wasn't until many years later that I actually began to produce music on a more professional level. I had been the lead or backup singer in several bands, played instruments live while performing, and had put in studio time, as an artist. But I found it difficult spending so much money looking for the right producer to make the beats I was hearing in my head that I felt should be going with the song I had written. I thought it was funny when an old friend of mine once said he wasn't into all that Folk Music. I had to remind him that all he was hearing was the guitar and my voice. If he heard the beat and orchestration I was hearing in my head, he wouldn't be saying Folk, although Folk Music does have an influence on my current writing style.
I compose and produce in multiple genre's and always willing to explore a new idea. I predominantly use Garage Band to produce my tracks. I have been told by many that I seem to have a real knack for mixing in that program, so it's what I use. They say find the tools that best fit you and use them to the best of your ability.
In addition to the songs I have composed, I have a large number of tracks that are perfect for Movie Soundtracks or TV, as well as 30 minute ad spots. And if you are looking for a specific sound or feel for a song, all you have to do is tell me and it's a good possibility I will be able to bring it to reality.
In closing, and for the record, I truly do this for the love of music. I determined many years ago that it was unlikely I would ever become some big shinning star and live rich off of record sales, so I didn't ever chase that star. I just continued to write music and share it with my friends. And now, I get to enjoy doing that any time I want to, and that is a beautiful thing!
Thats GREAT to hear! Talk about me doing my thing! Everytime you contact me you got things going! Do what you do and keep music ALIVE! lol! Want to team up SOMETIME! :) Wish the best for you ALWAYS!
