Influences
My basic philsophy for my approach to music has never changed. Producers who are forward thinking in their production of music inspire me. Those rare types dont just create music that is another form of something else, they create entirely new genres- or sounds that people have never heard before. I truly beleive there are 2 types of musicians out there- those who play other peoples music, and those who compose music for others. I want to be known as a composer, as somebody who produces his own material. I have alot of pride in what I do. I have been dedicated to learning and composing music almost my entire life. Everyday I learn something knew, it inspires me to learn more. My Father taught me how to play the Piano, he is essentially the cornerstone of my music life. Throughout the years, I have met literally hundreds of producers, aritists and DJ's. Each one has their own story.
Sounds Like
When I play out at an event ( party/club) - I play techno. To be more specific, I play a mixture of Hard Techno and Tribal Techno. I incorperate Older Material, New Material, as well as Self Produced material in my sets.. I dont pick out the same 10 records for every event I play, I try to read the crowd.
Nothing is worse the playing music for people who dont want to hear it and are bored. It can ruin your night as a DJ, and your rep. I also play my sound based on the time of night. If its early, I might go more Tribal. If its later, I might play harder. I always leave room for the element of suprise in my sets.
My aim as a DJ is to have a versatile approach set wise. Ultimately I would like to have completely self produced material based sets. Something every DJ wants.
Lair Driver is a name that has become synonymous with the 'Underground' Toronto Rave scene. A Dj, Producer and Promoter - he contributes to his cause on 3 levels all with equal passion and experience. Bitten by the 'Rave-bug' in 1993, he has followed the electronic music scene for nearly 15 years. He considers himself an innovator and is as ambitious as he approachable. He began playing at events as a DJ in July of 1999; he has built a well travelled resume of bookings in Toronto, South Western Ontario as well as the U.S.
During the past 8 years Lair Driver has played for a long list of some of Toronto's most popular production companies, including 2 appearances at the World Electronic Music Festival hosted by Destiny Productions. In 2001 he played for Phlux Productions for their Hardhouse Themed stage, where headliners like Alex Peace and Bam Bam played. In 2005 he played for Terror Inc at the official Hardsounds stage where the likes of Sam Punk and Thomas Krome headlined.
Originally playing a blend of UK Hardhouse and Techno influenced Trance, he built a solid following on his track selection and mixing skill. He has always maintained a ‘roll with the times’ approach and has committed himself to using a progressive approach in his sets. Taking a trendsetting approach, as opposed to following the crowd. In recent years he has moved on with his sound and now plays a unique blend of Techno and Hardhouse in his sets. Combining self produced material and the hottest tracks around for a one of a kind show.
Since 2007, Lairdriver has refocused his efforts to producing and mastering his revamped version of his live sets. Sensing and seeing the direction that being a DJ in this day and age is taking people, he looked ahead for a way to reinvent things. In his own words ‘DJ’s must be more then able to mix on 2 turntables and a mixer now, DJ’s must be resourceful and utilize the digital age in sets’. Preferring to maintain the integrity of being a Vinyl DJ, he has a full Torq/Serato/Abelton Live show taking things to a whole new level for 2008.
Lair Driver built his reputation in the beginning on not just being a local area DJ; he sought out other places to play as he was eager to experience the different cities and scenes here. In the 8 years that he has been playing for live crowds he has literally logged thousands of miles travelling. He has played in London, Kitchener, Guelph, St Catharines, Niagara Falls, Pickering, Ajax, Oshawa, Sudbury and North Bay on numerous occasions. In particular he has a close connection with the Niagara and St Catharines area scene as that is where he made his home for several years. He has made appearance outside of Canada as well. Playing in Rochester, New York, Buffalo New York, and Pittsburgh. He has headlined and played alongside on the same bill with some of Canada’s, USA, and the UK’s biggest and best Techno, Hardhouse and House producers and DJ’s- such as D.A.V.E the Drummer, Chris Liberator, Roland the Bastard, D.D.R, Mark Tyler, Sam Punk ,Bam Bam, Jelo, Dekoze, S.O.S, Grimace and Dr Trance to name a few.
In 2002, he soon found himself wanting to produce what he was playing. His musical background is as diverse as it is dedicated. He has been playing the Piano since the age of 4, and began composing at the age of 13. Preferring to compose rather than to play what others have already made. He has been taking music production in recent years seriously, and has literally been making music in one form or the other for his entire life. He has a wide area of Techno and House self produced tracks that carry his signature sound. Preferring to break the mould and add his own influence. He has committed himself to a multi genre approach of Techno, House and Trance. Allowing him the full creative realm and not denying himself the creativity that a one genre approach can sometimes limit you too.
In 2008 Lairdriver has plans and aspirations to go ‘Global’. Taking a step back from local scene gigs to concentrate on the bigger picture and the flourishing producing world. Putting on the finishing touches for a Summer 2008 release of a full length album. He has plans to play in Europe and California this year and plans to widen his area of promotional efforts to broader scale. Quite simply put, he is a student for life of music. He draws inspiration from cutting edge and original producers like Mauro Picotto, Mario Piu, Richie Hawtin, and Daft Punk and to many other great names to mention in this space. Taking bold steps, one step at a time.
He has always taken a diverse approach and takes a different approach to genres. Being a one trick pony never works, paying attention to what sounds good to you and what you think is going to make crowds move. In other words=No genre is a the best genre.
Back with two decked out tunes, Alchemy puts his thinking cap on and really does a number on 'Bits & Pieces'. Keeping a chuggy back-and-forth rhythmic house groove and working in vocal bits keeps the groove in your pants. For the big room, 'Resin8''s ripping synth lick drips your sweat off your face, until the break where lasting filtered build up calms the dance floor.

redford had something that he diden't want me to tell enyone.Did you know that most females are not telling the truth when it comes to a guys package,i can tell you this from an experience that i had.but now that redford is such a player with all the females,an has no time for his so called best friend i will tell you how he did it.He went from having a tiny thing and in a couple months his tiny thing is like nine inches and get this, it is still getting bigger. He has been taking secretly these white things from CABHE.COM I found out when i was at his pad and he was in the john, I went in his room sneeked under his bed and booya there was like six full packs and five empty ones all from CABHE.COM I was laughing at first but then when he came in the room and caught me looking at them, he freaked out and made me sware to not ever tell anyone about them, especially females from school or work that he has been dating for the past while, now that I think of it, he has been rather busy with all the popular females around here, when just last year he was the shyest when it came to females.
I just never put two and two together until he explained it all to me, I did see his johnson and yes, it is huge, monster huge, the thickest and longest one I ever seen.
I know this sounds really shallow, but I am considering ordering 6 packs from the website at CABHE.COM for you know who.. he does not have a web page, so he is not gonna see this. They guarentee that the packs will work on any man, or they give you your money back, living proof that they do work on any guy, seeing is proof.CABHE.COM
