About me: Lake Alice is nestled inside the famous Roosevelt Building at 3616 University Ave. & Orange Street, a block away from the Mission Inn. The Roosevelt Building was built in 1904 and is a heritage landmark in downtown RIVERSIDE. Lake Alice was established in 1988. So we are now 20 years old! The restaurant was called Dagwoods before it became Lake Alice. Lake Alice previously was a little sandwich shop and pub. The name "Lake Alice" comes from a lake in Missouri where Eddie, the previous owner, used to vacation with his family when he was a boy.
His parents sold the family cabin there to buy Dagwoods. He was so saddened by the sale that he named this new venture in tribute to the place of his fondest childhood memories. Lake Alice used to be primarily a blues night club. We have evolved and are now a Premier Live Music Night Club. We were voted Best Live Music Club in the Inland Empire by the Press Enterprise Readers Choice Awards 9 consecutive years. Lake Alice was bought by its current owners Jeff and Jenny in August of 2004. Their Philosophy is simple; provide excellent service with a smile in a fun environment that people love to come back to. Lake Alice has live music on Wednesdays with bands from all over So. Cal. On Friday and Saturday you can come down and check out the best Cover Bands that So. Cal. has to offer. Call us!
