5. SCORING: Scoring is based on the total weight of a five (5) fish limit per boat. Each fish must meet the minimum required length limit. Fish will be measured on a flat board. Each dead fish will be assessed a four (4) ounce penalty.
6. WEIGH-INS: Will be conducted at the launch site specified on the 2007-2008 schedule. Each person is required to return on time or will be assessed a penalty of 1/2 (half) a pound per minute up to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes no weight will be allowed.
7. CULLING FISH: Only five (5) fish per team can be in the live well at any time during the tournament hours.
8. PRACTICE FISHING: No restrictions apply.
9. BOATS AND MOTORS: There are no horsepower limits, but they cannot exceed the Coast Guard's maximum horsepower rating for your boat.
10. PERMITTED FISHING WATERS: All fishing must be done from your boat. Only areas reachable without exiting your boat are permitted fishing waters.
11. LEAVING THE BOAT: Entrants may only leave the boat for reasons deemed not associated with FISHING.
12. TACKLE AND EQUIPMENT: Only artificial lures may be used. No live bait or prepar4ed baits are permitted, with the exception of pork trailers or artificial scents. Only one (1) rod may be used at a time. Each cast and retrieve must be completed before another is made. No trolling.
13. DRUGS & ALCOHOL: NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS during tournament hours. Each participant is responsible for his or her own actions. Lake Barnett Bass Club will not tolerate abuse of illegal drugs or alcohol and strongly suggest that you obey the laws of the land.
14. LIFE PRESERVERS: Life saving devices will be worn at all times when the big motor is running.
15. CONSERVATION: Is a primary concern of Lake Barnett Bass Club. Adequate live wells are mandatory on each boat. ALL LIVE FISH will be released following the weigh-in.
16. REGISTRATION: Will be done at the launch site or during a club function. IF YOU ARE LATE FOR THE LAUNCH TIME you must find another participant on the body of water and have them check your live well and pay them your entry fee. YOU CANNOT FISH UNTIL YOU HAVE DONE THIS! NO FISH IN YOUR POSSESSION. NO EXCEPTIONS UNTIL YOU DO THIS!
17. PROTEST-DISQUALIFICATIONS: All protest must be brought to the attention of a tournament committee member or club officer within 15 minutes after final weigh-in. Interpretation of the rules, protest, and further actions will be carried out by the tournament committee members present or the highest club officer present. The decision of the tournament committee or club officer shall be final in all matters.
18. ALTERNATE PARTNERS: Anyone over 18 years of age in a club member’s boat during tournament hours must be a paying member unless they are a spouse or dependent child of a club member. For our single members they are permitted to fish with his or her present significant other (boyfriend or girlfriend). It is still the total weight of the boat and this weight will count towards the regular team’s total weight. There must always be one team member in the boat. In other words, non-members (spouse, girlfriend, brother or dependent child) cannot fish by themselves but they can fish with a member of the club.
19. TEAM OF THE YEAR: The team of the year award will now be the Winter or Spring series winners. It will be based on total points for that series. Total points are calculated as follows for each tournament.
A) FIRST PLACE: 100 points.
B) SECOND PLACE: 99 points.
C) THIRD PLACE: 98 points.
D) FOURTH PLACE: 97 points.
So on and so forth for as long as fish are weighed in.
You will receive one point for each pound of fish caught. If you catch 10 pounds of fish and you place first your total points would calculate to 110. If you fish and zero you get 25 points just for fishing the tournament unless the buy-in option is used. Then your total points would equal zero.
20. FEDERATION TEAMS: The point winners from each series and the championship winners will be the STATE TEAM for the club. If any of the teams who qualify cannot fish or are already qualified then the next place down in the series points or championships will be the club qualifier.
21. CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATIONS: To qualify for the championship tournament in July a team must fish either all four tournaments in one series or six total tournaments. Each team also has one “buy-in” option they may exercise if neither partner can fish. Tournament entry may be paid up to a week in advance until take off time on the morning of the tournament. The buy-in option is to be used for championship qualification. The option will result in a zero for that tournament.
22. ALL FEES: must be paid prior to fishing the first tournament. All team members must be a member of B.A.S.S. Federation membership is optional. Federation dues must be paid by the January tournament.
23. LIVE-WELL CHECKS: Will be performed at each event.
24. ALTERNATE LAKES: For any tournament scheduled on either the Arkansas or White Rivers… if the flow or high water conditions are present there will an alternate site for that event. If flow on the Arkansas River breaks 70,000 CFS or the White River above flood state and is forecasted to remain at or above those levels then the tournament will be moved. This will be done 8 days prior to the even to allow practice time. If conditions become fishable 5 days prior to the tournament date then follow the tournament schedule. Lake Barnett is the alternate lake for all events that are moved. Club officials will be in contact with members if this becomes a possibility.
