MY INTERESTS: Good literature (it's all subjective, isn't it?), Theology (obviously) Christian Church History Foreign Languages (currently retooling Spanish, hungry to study Greek and Hebrew someday!), visiting art museums (works showing yet another powerful form of expression as to how we interpret the world), running (with scissors!) laughing my head off, and singing (especially out loud in the car, to the chagrin of my passengers!).
Music
I'm all over the map over this one! And I am always looking to listen to something new, so hit me up with some hints why don'tcha! Casting Crowns, Matt Redman Jane Monheit (love her!), John Mayer, some Salsa, Brazilian vocal music, Juanes, some hip-hop and classic R&B, and Braddah IZ (the late, great Hawaiian vocalist) for starters! My current IPOD rotation: John Mayer
Movies
Gattaca (My Favorite of ALL TIME!!!!! - I love this movie so much, I buy copies whenever I find them and give them away to friends!), Hidalgo, (with Viggo Mortensen, a very close second), Gone with The Wind, Mildred Pierce (with Joan Crawford), Like Water for Chocolate (Foreign) Little Women, Anne of Green Gables, Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (w/Johnny Depp - I've been banned from the family room now because this is the only movie I want to watch lately!)and many others too numerous to mention!
Television
Not much to say in this department. If you have access to Cross TV, with Mark Kielar, I can't recommend this program enough! Find out more at CrossTV.com
Books
Evidence that Demands a Verdict by Josh McDowell (after feeling digust over having been deceived by the Mormon church, this book made me open to reading the bible), How to Read the Bible for All its Worth by Gordon Fee, How We Got the Bible by Neil R. Lightfoot, Church History in Plain Language by Bruce L. Shelley, The God who is There by Francis Schaeffer, Walking from East to West by Ravi Zacharias. The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton (My favorite fiction book of all time!!!). Ethan Frome, also by Edith Wharton (I think I'm the only one from High School who liked it). Theological Reflection of the Old and New Testaments: Theological Reflection on the Christian Bible by Brevard Childs, Losing Faith in Faith by Dan Barker (this is one of the most compelling books I've read in awhile, and would highly recommend this book for Christians, Agnostics and Atheists. Losing My Religion by William Lobdell. (The book of Hebrews - my favorite)CURRENTLY READING: These days? Whatever my professors are dictating. .

Hi there! My name is Joanne. I've created this page to keep in touch with friends, as well as answer any questions you may have about Mormonism and/or Christianity. When asking questions or making comments, please, don't be mean, or I'll have God strike you down - we're tight that way! (Just kidding). Seriously, I'm here for those of you who are questioning your faith, are curious about these faiths in general (don't worry -- I'm not in the business of convincing!), need comfort, or are simply curious. Ask away, I'm here for you! Just spit it out. What have you got to lose????
I'd like to meet: Paul McGuire (www.krbt740.com)(DONE!) John MacArthur(www.gty.com) Mark Kielar (www.crosstv.com) A.R. Bernard.. Paul Washer's advice about how to witness to a person EFFECTIVELY.
Thanks much Sis for your prayers & encouraging words! I'm thankful that we get to spend eternity together & that God saved you out of Mormonism! Lindsay will still be down in CA for awhile longer since she has to graduate. You're always welcome to stay w/ us on your way up to Boise! Your bro,R

"Truth does not demand belief. Scientists do not join hands every Sunday, singing, yes, gravity is real! I will have faith! I will be strong! I believe in my heart that what goes up, up, up must come down, down. down. Amen! If they did, we would think they were pretty insecure about it." –Dan Barker

Hi J, Thanks for the encouragement and prayers! I continue to pray for your situation, and that you'll continue to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus (2 Pt. 3:18).
Hi there! So good to hear from you. How are things in your world? My world is extremely busy. Let's get together for a chat either in person or on the phone. Miss you =D.

Ok, so after reading my last comment I realized that I if I spoke in complete sentences it would probably help in the communication process. What I meant to say was "We missed you guys at Chipotle.
