Shawn "Champ" James also known as Musa, and to some people JUST THE DISHWASHER, has been working a steady job since the age of 16. He started out working in a cafeteria at the local mall, and from there went on to work for Best Buy. After Best Buy he went on to work for Lee's Famous Recipe Chicken where he stayed for 1 year and decided to move on to pursue his clothing line.After realizing that he had to keep income coming in to run a business he went to work as A DISHWASHER for the restraraunt Applebees. He fealt like the kitchen was a good place for him to be since he is a thinker and revolutionary. While in the kitchen Shawn, Champ, or Musa started to write his songs and draw his designs while there was a slow time in the kitchen. He came up with some of his best material at the DISHTANK. There was also alot of people he met when he would come out of the kitchen to get a sight. He would always seem to run into the right people who would motivate him to keep doing music and clothing. There was a guy named Herbert Wallace who was a host in the store and was always rapping...literally rapping to his customers, and would always throw a pitch about Shawn James to his customers, which Shawn greatly aprreciated. In 2004 James, released his first mix CD which only had 7 songs, but they were 7 of the most power songs he ever wrote. His topics werent JEWELRY,CARS, and the average commercial topics, his topics were what some call revolutionary, and motavational for change and thought. After moving on from Applebees in 2005, Shawn started working at Wright State University where he had previously won 1st place in the Black Men on the Move Apollo Night talent show in front of a crowd of 100 plus. It was at Wright State University where he experienced the most segregation, and racism he had ever experienced while working. As he say's "WHITE STATE is in KLANBORN,OHIO, right by Kentucky". The managment treated him like he was scum when he first got there until "MASSA SEEN I WAS A REBELLIOUS SLAVE, WHO WOULD BUCK WHEN NEEDED", and thats when the games began. They constantly tried and tried to get Mr.James to respond to their slave master, surpremist tactics, and when he didnt respond they went even further into the game and fired Mr.James after 3 years of working there for paying $1 for a burger that cost 3. Just to add more insult to injury, they ONLY SUSPENDED A WHITE EMPLOYEE who actually didnt attemp to pay at all."I knew it was comin" said James,"they(managers) would say smart ass comments to try to get me to respond in a ignorant way, and it wasnt workin, my attendance was better then it use to be, i was gettin to work 20 and 30 minutes early, so they saw they couldnt get me for that, i was networking, always was shakin somebody's hand or givin a hug, enterin talent shows, meetin new people, and they couldnt stand that a YOUNG BLACK MAN, could be on the level Im on, thats somethin they dont see". When it all came down to firing Mr.James, the cashier who rang the sandwich up was fired also(27year old black male) but was he job was given back to him the next week. And Mr.James wonders,"WHO, AND WHY WOULD A MANAGER GO OUT OF HIS WAY TO GO PRINT UP A RECIEPT, AND TERMINATE A PERSON FOR A SANDWICH AND HAVING SO MUCH PRIDE WHILE LETTIN ME KNOW IM TERMINATED, YOU KNOW, I JUST STARTED WORKIN WITH THE GUY, AND FROM THE START HE SEEMED LIKE HE WAS OUT TO GET ME, EVERYDAY, HE HAD SOMETHING TO SAY ABOUT THE PETTIEST BULL, AND I WOULD TAKE IT AND SAY OK MY FAULT". "IM SUPPOSED TO BE A HOTHEAD BECAUSE PAST MANAGERS AND EMPLOYEES CANT UNDERSTAND WHY I TELL THE TRUTH...LOOK, IF YOU ARE A MANAGER AND I FEEL YOU DISCRIMINATE, THEN IMA TELL YOU, AND TELL YOU WHY". When talking about the Union that he paid for 3 years to protect he sounds off his disappointment."NOT TO MANY OF THE UNION PEOPLE WENT AND FOUGHT FOR ME,IT SEEMED LIKE THE UNION REPS WHO WAS IN THE OFFICE WHEN I WAS TERMINATED WERE PLEASED THAT I WAS FIRED, I CAN TELL BY THERE OLD WHITE WRINKLED ASS FACES". Musa wants you the listener to know that he loves human beings who are true to themselves and calls situations how he see's them not regretting anything he has done in his life,"THATS THE FIRST TIME I EVER GOT FIRED, AND IT SEEMED LIKE IT CAME AT A TIME WHEN I DIDNT NEED IT...BUT IT'S REALLY ABOUT MAKIN ADJUSTMENTS AND BOUNCIN BACK". The Dishwasher page was created to give all people a chance to sit back and enjoy music that they can relate to when they get on myspace and wanna hear another employee of a company make music about hating his job, not liking some of the people, and at the same time needing the job to pay the rent. " I JUST WANT PEOPLE TO FEEL GOOD AND BE MOTIVATED TO DO GOOD ON THEY'RE JOB, SO THEY CAN CONTINUE TO HAVE A JOB, NOT SAYIN I HAVE THE POWER MAKE SOMEBODY DO RIGHT, BUT I FEEL WITH MY ARTWORK I CAN GIVE THEM A SONG TO REMIND THEM THAT YEA THE JOB SUCKS, THE PEOPLE ARE JERKS, BUT RIGHT NOW "I" NEED THIS JOB UNTIL I CAN FIND SOMETHING BETTER I WANNA DO".
