It’s STILL Elementary Talking About Gay Issues In School
SUNDAY, MARCH 9th at 2:00PM Broadway Performance Hall Capitol Hill, Seattle
The follow up documentary from It’s Elementary, released a decade ago, which will also be featured along with a panel discussion with the director Debra Chasnoff and subjects from the film, including SSC CoChairs Beth Reis and Frieda Takamura, facilitated by Aleksa Manila.
With the recent unfortunate murder of 14-year old California student LAWRENCE KING by a fellow student – it reminds us of the harsh reality of the school system with our youth & adults – students and teachers alike who face discrimination. We quickly dismiss the impact of bullying at school… not realizing its long term effects or immediate effects that threaten the innocent lives of our LGBTQ brothers & sisters, both young and old. Not to mention, the recent hate speeches Ken Hutcherson made at Mt. Si High School.

Come help educate the SPD on Trans/Genderqueer youth issues EARN MONEY AND EDUCATE THE POLICE!!!
Do you have opinions on how Trans/Genderqueer Folks are treated by the Police? Do you want to know how you can help educate local law enforcement to better deal with Gender variant encounters?
Come have discussions with the Seattle Police Department East Precinct Officers over issues and relationships between Transgender & Genderqueer Youth, the Police, and L.G.B. Allies.
There will be Free Food and you will earn $25 for your time!

Hang out. Meet other young gay/bi/queer guys. Learn about MPowerment. And even talk about sex.
We’ll have FREE FOOD and BEVERAGES. All you have to do is show up. Bring as many friends as you'd like.
