Gloria Marisol Lou has been involved in music since the 3rd grade. Starting with the trumpet she moved to the violin in the 5th grade that continued through high school. Classically trained in the violin and being selected for the Sweetwater Union High School Youth Orchestra. But her most pivotal training began when selected to be in the top Mariachi youth group, Agua Dulce, representing the Sweetwater Union High School District in San Diego, CA. In this competitive environment her musicianship grew while she learned the rigor and camaraderie of traveling around the county playing various functions sometimes 3-4 times a week not including rehearsals. Through Mariachi music, a passion for singing was sparked while playing and listening to this traditional form of Mexican folk music that is sung and embraced by young and old alike, all bound together by the music of their fathers and mothers. In 2001 Gloria’s family moved to Milledgeville, Georgia where the high school did not have a strings program. Gloria enrolled in the choir were she studied and learned how to use her voice for the next four years. During that time she encountered three classmates, two singing in harmony, Gloria sang along, and from there they formed a new R&B and Gospel group named Serenity. Serenity traveled around Milledgeville performing in churches and high school functions such as, Baldwin High Schoolʼs Black History Program. Later on the group lost two members and became, La Morenaʼs Soul, or in English, The Brown One’s Soul. La Morenaʼs Soul, sang original R&B made by the writer of the group (which inspired Gloria to write her own music), and performed at various functions held by Georgia College and State University and also Georgia Community College. In 2007 Gloria Lou moved to Memphis, Tennessee. La Morenaʼs Soul broke up and Gloria Lou became, La Morena (The Brown One) an independent, unsigned, solo artist. La Morena has been writing and arranging her own original music in the musical style of neo-soul and R&B. The Internet has enabled her to collaborate with various musicians in Memphis, Atlanta and as far away as the UK. She has also performed at Chicano Park Day in San Diego, California 2006: Athens, Georgia for the National Association for Latino Arts and Culture; and most recently at the 2008 MidSouth Fair in Memphis and The Memphis Botanic Gardens
But i'm also open to new things, ideas, and collaborating. I am currently singing on other people's tracks for their cd's. I love to do that sort of thing, for nothing even. If you like how i sound and you want a vocalist, hit me up. All i want in the end is recognition if anything.

its every Thursday night..its downtown 704 Madison.i won't e there 2night though..i performed Faith, Love, and Happiness last week...ima 85% of the ppl down there know me...with performing some stuff and all!but im curious wats your favorite track by me??and ima upload some new material soon!oh yea im done recording for my album "The Enlightenment".....just waiting on the rest of my stuff 2 be mixed,my other tracks copyrighted, then this lady is doing my artwork front and back cover..lol,and ima have preseed copies of it.....you know i gotcha..and sorry for the term paper..lol
