Me in the Buddy Owen Band:

- Steve Evans on Bass (Coco Montoya, Elvin Bishop)

My solo is followed by a traditionally epic solo by Buddy Owen himself.
On this next Buddy Owen Band episode, my solo goes from around the 7 minute marker to almost the 9 minute marker ... yeah I know it's a long one ... and, it's sloppy ... REALLY SLOPPY! ... but sometimes, I likes it like that! I hope you enjoy!
Yet another epic jam with your buddy & mine ... Buddy Owen.

My own fresh breath of music is on it's way ... check-in from time to time, when you think of me. ;)
Influences
Everything (... AND I MEAN EVERYTHING!) musical has influenced my life in some shape or form. In NO particular order:
From country roots (essentially, "sit-down" Blues / ol' timer shizzle, Country, Blue Grass, etc. ... ), to modern Pop, Soul, Psychedelic Rock, Jazz, Rock, Raggae, Heavy Metal, Bossa Nova, Hard Rock, R&B, Folk, Rock-A-Billy, Hip-Hop/Rap, Funk, Latin Rock, etc. ...
I'm into the mindset of where music lies in our conscious ... can't explain it much more than that (sorry, besides, if I did, I'd have to kill you, and we wouldn't want that - JK!).
It's the passion that drives me, and it's the passion that I can't explain, to me, it's "other-worldly" ... and THAT is what "influences" ME.
Sounds Like
It kinda sounds like ... uh, ME, DUMB-ASS! Go figure!
I hate labels ... I guess if they're used as helpful mental tools, then it's alright ... but this particular one has always felt like it was limiting.
I started playing guitar around the age of 14 ... a prime age of youth's angst and puberty! Oh yes, I remember those days gloriously ... NOT! Man! I don't care what anybody says, that was a LOUSY time for most people. LOL!
Uh ... since then ... I've played w/: Elvin Bishop (almost 9yrs), George Thorogood, Steve Miller, Charlie Musslewhite, Joe Louis Walker, Huey Lewis, Henry Butler ... just to name-drop a few (+ many 'local' greats).
I've done Shows w/: Bonnie Raitt, Jonny Lang, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Dr. John, Shemekia Copeland, Robert Cray, The Staple Singers, The Neville Brothers, Buddy Guy, Gov't Mule, Canned Heat, The Cars, Hank Williams III, Pine Top Perkins, Taj Mahal, Willie Nelson ... countless other incredible bands and musicians! Plus! I've performed in front of thousands of people, regularly, and many many times! (I feel blessed - as I think anyone who has been put in that position ... SHOULD!)
I've toured all over the USA, including Alaska & the Virgin Islands, as well as Europe. With the Elvin Bishop Band, I did 3 albums, including:
-- "The Skin I'm In" (1998)
-- "Gettin' My Groove Back" (2005)
-- "That's My Partner" (2000), which won R&B of the year in the California Music Awards (Yes, I have my very own Cammy with my name engraved on it).
I've been treated like royalty, and I've been dumped like the Tuesday Trash. It wasn't ALL pretty, but it's ALL GOOD! I'm ready for something worthy, and something "REAL".
But anyway, if you weren't there, what do you really care ... :)
And now! ... A true hero! ... THE One-And-Only! ...
Django Reinhardt!

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
