音樂

電視
God, haven't watched anything for AGES! House MD at times (guess we're all into him at University), and the evening news. But nothing can ever come close to the TdF during the Lance-era.
Not really "tv", but definitely funny: "Nu pogodi" - absolutely cracks me up!!
書籍
"Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested; that is, some books are to be read only in parts; others to be read but not curiously; and some few to be read wholly, and with diligence and attention."
F. Bacon, "On Studies"
Books which definitely fit in the latter category are:
Lance Armstrong, Sally Jenkins: “It’s Not About the Bike”, “Every Second Counts”; Linda Armstrong Kelly, Joni Rodgers: “No Mountain High Enough”; Eve Curie: “Madame Curie”; Antione de Saint-Exupery: “Little Prince”; novels by Fyodor M. Dostoyevsky, poems by Alexander S. Pushkin, Nelly Sachs, Simon Gregorcic, France Prešeren & Dragotin Kette. Other: Erich M. Remarque: “Im Westen nichts Neues”; Hermann Vinke: “Das kurze Leben der Sophie Scholl”; Inge Scholl: “Die Weiße Rose”; Frank Franke, Norbert Schreiber, Peter Vinzens: “Verstrahlt, vergessen, vergiftet – Die Opfer von Tschernobyl nach zehn Jahren”... ... ...
Though... It's been a while since I've read non-medicine books ;) Guess the top-list of the next years will still be Anatomy, Biochemistry... :))

關於我:
Found my site? Congrats and W-E-L-C-O-M-E!
So… I’m Veronika aka lancelover, born and grew up in Klagenfurt/Celovec, a city in the south of Austria – the country of mountains, lakes, skiing, Mozart AND Georg Totschnig, “Paco” Wrolich, Bernie Eisel, René Haselbacher… You got it – I’m an addict to this beautiful sport on two wheels called “cycling” :)
My favourite team however is the late USPS/Discovery Channel, and now, Team Astana. They rock sooo much!
If you think your addiction to cycling is becoming a serious problem, visit www.myspace.com/cy_anon and say “Hi!” to our Spiritual Leader, Prescriber of Updog, Tour maniac, and CEO of Cyclists Anonymous and Bikeaholics Anonymous, our friend Matt alias ACL – don’t be shy to admit, “Yes, I’m addicted!” As you see, the program doesn't work, so don't expect a cure... But you'll sure have a good time ;)
Still here?
In real life I’m just a girl, chasing her dreams, looking for the good things that life brings.
When I was a little girl, my mom heard those words, “Your kid has cancer.” However, till 1999, cancer was something you don't talk about. Something you don't mention in your CV. Something you hide. Just because.
Reading the paper that summer, an article caught my eyes and changed my life forever: I got to know the inspiring story of a guy named Lance Armstrong, who was about to win his first Tour de France. Three years after his diagnosis. Seven years after mine.
...And I became a survivor...
After my finals I went to Ljubljana, Slovenia, to study at the Faculty of Medicine and fulfil my dream of being an Oncologist :))
And, in case you wonder, Slovenia is a beautiful country as well: amazing landscapes, friendly people, Mediterranean atmosphere, good food, the beautiful architecture of a true genius, Jože Plečnik – especially in Ljubljana... And yes – cyclists. A lot of them, indeed: Jani Brajkovič, Uroš Murn, Tadej Valjavec, Gorazd Štangelj, Jure Golčer, Matej Mugerli, Simon Špilak, Tomaž Nose, Borut Božič and A LOT more, not to forget Andrej Hauptman & the "old guys" Franc Škerlj, Tone Kunaver, Primož Čerin....... – a true cycling nation here :) Last but not least, our ultra marathon cyclist Jure Robič is 4 time RAAM winner. Tough guy.
So, how am I?
I’m… open-minded and passionate about the things I do. I like to have fun, but I can be serious, if it comes to. I like to spend time with friends, but I also want to be alone sometimes. I might not care about some things, while others make me laugh and cry and jump around at the same time. I can keep cool about some things and go mad about others. I love every aspect of my life – all the ups and downs made me who I am today, and it’s all right.
The best way to get along with me is to just be honest and nothing but honest. To be good and nothing but good – no envy, no cheat, no faked friends. Treat every living thing with respect – humans, animals, nature. Have a positive attitude to life and its challenges, and the courage to get up again when you fail. It’s all right. It's not about ignoring the bad, you're just not supposed to let it rule your life ;)
If that’s too much to you, this is definitely not your site.
If you think you can do that, don’t be shy to request friendship.
If you like my little world, make sure to check in from time to time to see what's new ;)
我想認識: LANCE ARMSTRONG. Team Astana and all of the ex-DC boys, especially JB, Benjamin, Popo, Conti; Eddie Merckx, Big Mig, Bernard Hinault, Triki, Ace, Uroš (Murn). Meet again: Jani, Eki, Pavel (Padrnos), CHECHU, Billy, Big George, Tommy D, Vladimir ("The Goose"), Jürgen (Van Goolen), Stijn (Devolder), Sean (Yates), Thomas (Frei), Julien (Mazet), Levi... Luc, Tiebe, Johan, Craig, Nikolai, well all of the team staff actually! GEOFF BROWN - a very special ex-DC guy whom I gladly welcome back to Team Astana =)...
Of all time: as above, plus: Pedro Opeka, Mother Therese, Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, pope John XXIII, pope John Paul II, Dalai Lama, Marie Curie, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, the White Rose, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi. Rolando Villazón - he's just TOO FUNNY, and everything he says is hilarious and when he starts to sing :) ...Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn.
real: Friends. People who want to be part of my life and let me be part of theirs. Honest people, no fakes. People who think Team and don’t care only about themselves. I want my space to be a place of Friends, not adding people to have a high number of “friends”.
Today was a tough day. Stage 16. Levi had a tough day but the guys rode great. Poor Popo looked so sad when Sastre passed him...but you go on..study, study! The boys be the first to tell you that's more important. :)))
I have been training hard for the San Diego Rock & Roll Marathon on May 31st 2009 and am dedicating this marathon to family and friends who have battled or are currently battling cancer.
As part of my Rock 'n' Roll Marathon experience, I am helping raise funds for lifesaving cancer research.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is committed to finding cures for leukemia and related diseases and improving the lives of those affected by these diseases. This is an ambitious task and they need our help! All donations go directly to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Make Cures Happen.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society invests $61 million annually in support of more than 200 researchers, provides financial assistance to patients, sponsors scientific conferences around the country, produces educational materials and videos, and runs over 50 support groups nationwide. Because they receive no federal funding, they depend on us for continued support of these needed programs.
Please consider joining me in this experience by going to my Personal Fundraiser Page and making a donation.
I was happy to hear that he has decided to make a comeback but I did not hear about the crash. Hope he gets back soon and that it is just a minor one. So are your studies over or is it like a break before your next semester? Glad to know that you are having a well deserved break and got time to spend with your family :) Take care, my friend.
