Born and raised in Texas, mostly in small towns, Lance was influenced early by the likes of John Prine and Guy Clark. Mainly because his older brother forced it down his throat. Little did he know how thankful he would be later on. He grew up playing drums in rock bands, but always had the itch to write. His father bought him a guitar when he was 19. While going to Texas Tech, his brother sent him some Steve Earle tapes. This was Lance's tutor on how to play and write. A short, painful stint in Nashville showed Lance he had no place there with that junk, so Texas bound. These new songs are some of what's been going on in the last few years and will accompany 12 for a cd.
