What is the LandBouwBelang?

In 2002 there were some people who squatted this huge fabric, back in the days it was meant to be used as a grain-fabric. After a little while more people got interested in living @ Landbouwbelang, together they put a lot of energy and time in rebuilding everything inside, they build rooms to live in, a kitchen, toilets, shower, and there is a lot of room and space for art.

The Landbouwbelang is not mercantile, so it's a non-profit place. At parties and expositions etc there are only volunteers who keep the place running, and they keep the atmosphere very personal.

At the moment there are 13 people living at the Landbouwbelang, as I said before; everyone build their own room, the kitchen and the bathroom is shared but also build by the people who live there. There is a very spacey little house in the garden that is build and now lived by 2 very creative persons. The people from the Landbouwbelang chose for an environment where they can decide for themselves what they want to do with the environment, they find it very important that there is enough space for development in art and to experiment with materials etc. in their workplaces in the building.

You can find a lot of workplaces and studios at the Landbouwbelang. Also a little group of young people experimenting with materials, and developing new inventions is using a workplace, this group is called Demotech. For more information about this group you can check out their webpage:

People who are looking for temporary projects and a place to work that out, are also more than welcome at Landbouwbelang. There are possibilities to organise a activity like concerts, parties, theatres and workshops, but remember there are some conditions like; free entrance, no commercial sponsors and no personal profit.
