We will be rocking out in the city of New York as much as we can from now until January...there will be some solo acoustic shows, and a few electric. Samantha will be playing drums a few times, but there may be other shows with male drummers. SO COME SEE IT WHILE YOU CAN. BECAUSE IT WON'T BE HERE FOR LONG, FUCKERS?
BUT FEAR NOT, I AM PRESENTLY WORKING WITH OTHER MUSICIANS ON A NEW PHASE/MOVEMENT I CALL THE DRUNKEN SENTIMENTAL. WE WILL HAVE A PAGE UP THIS SUMMER AND MAY EVEN BOOK SOME GIGS FOR NEXT FALL IF ALL GOES WELL...THERE ARE FOUR DIFFERENT GUITARISTS ON THIS ALBUM AND THERE'S EVEN A FEMALE VOCALIST ON SOME TRACKS---We will hopefully book some shows in San Francisco after we move there in February...WE have lived in New York City all of our lives---it's really time for a change of scenery....
A few moths ago, I finished recording ALL THE DEAD BRUNETTES
Although this was the last official LOTSJ album---I already put together a collection of rarities I like to call FALL OF THE JETS. These tracks as well as some really sweet shit I recorded over the last seven years are all included in a collection called WE CAN TAKE THE PAIN. This has a lot of poignant shit from volumes one through for...THIS COLLECTION OF MUSIC IS NOW AVAILABLE AT CD BABY.COM--MEANING THE TUNES ARE ALREADY ON I-TUNES (NAPSTER, RHAPSODY ETC)
(Salvatore can also be contacted at landofthesilverjets@hotmail.com)
It's been about three years
of playing about once a month,
The first gig was at pianos
I opened with the March into Hell
at the upstairs bar...
The March into Hell
(for those of you unfamiliar)
is the opening track on volume two
(I crash cars)
It's a really loud track, every time I played it back in the day
when I had no drummer or back-up, someone at the venue would complain
"The drums are too loud, the bartender can't concentrate...."
Don't get the wrong impression, all the people in the audience love it,
but there's something about that track that seriously frightens
the "so-called " establishment
I was really, really drunk during that show.
It got easier,
I played at Pianos again, spent a shit-load of time at CBGB"s Gallery,
played a few shows at Siberia, the mean Fiddler, The Pussycat Lounge and such.....then some asshole deleted my entire account--I lost hundreds of friends and my history of shows....that really pissed me off. I also played several times at the 169 Bar, originally solo, then with a male drummer, then, finally, with Dawn Samantha. The shows have all been a great time and I appreciate all the people that actually made it out to some--to those long-distance friends and people in other cities--don't fret, I understand. I assure you that we shall return.....
-----------
SO THE STORY GOES, ALL OF THESE TUNES WERE WRITTEN AND RECORDED BY SALVATORE RUSSO ON A FOUR-TRACK EITHER IN HIS BATHROOM OR LIVING ROOM SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 2001 AND 2007.....BEFORE THAT I WAS JUST SINGING WITH A WHOLE GROUP OF DIFFERENT PEOPLE, SOME ARE MARRIED, SOME WENT ON TO FORM BIGGER BANDS, SOME JUST GOT ENGAGED AND MOVED TO COLORADO.....
SAMANTHA AND I WILL BE RETURNING IN SPRING
KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN......
LISTENING TO MUSIC ON YOUR COMPUTER IS ONE THING
BUT IT'S REALLY ALL ABOUT GOING SOMEWHERE
HAVING A DRINK AND REALLY EXPERIENCING IT
YES LADIES AND GENTLEMEN--IT IS THE MIGHTY SCOTT HOWARD
ALL OF THESE STORIES THEY WERE WRITTEN WITH BLOOD
THAT PROBABLY CAME FROM THE ONES THAT YOU LOVE
ALL STILL SEE YOU WHEN WE DREAM--ALL BE DRINKING IN OUR DREAMS
YOU SHOULD BE READING MORE YUKIO MISHIMA--HE IS A GOD
A belated thank you for so graciously sending your album. It has spent a good week or so in my car stereo, adding a little bit of mystery and grandeur back to the punishment of driving to and from work. Your ability to write songs of the scope and emotional intensity/honesty that you do is a real inspiration. I hope to return the favor soon.
Hmm your show looks like it will be pretty interesting...I see myself attending. It sounds a hell of alot better than fuckin 350lb homeless men in while they are passed out in a vodka induced coma. I'll be the one screaming.
Here's hoping you and yours have a fabulous holiday season, and try to stay warm up there while making that fantastically crazy sound of yours! Cheers!
yeah, it's been a long while. I've been neglecting many aspects of my life lately, so amongst all the shit. I hope I shall find that Bjork/Lou Reed track. Cause oh my gawd, I shall have that man's babies!! ... but yeah, the reason I haven't been paying much attention to anything really, is because I've been trying to kick an H habit for about a year, and I'm finally noticing the things I gave up and where I left off. I've been attending deathmetal/hxc local shows and been beating off 15 year olds. What were you doing at 15?
Salo Palo! Musik got home Dad got a kick out of it (he thought it was some funny bill) TANK U! of course thought of you on your day but this fkingspace gets frozen as it pleasessssssssssss tschüss and hugs,p
seeing as how we have rocked out in past lives, we should do it in real life and maybe sometime the mad max future that awaits us all. maybe we can come up with a fitting soundtrack
it is hard to type right now because my face has been melted off by the queens... awesome show last night, and lisa and i went out after... good time, good times. go see them if you can...
Chelsea’s DVD entitled “Progression of a Child Prodigy” depicts how Chelsea progresses through her musical performances. Children can often find it difficult to relate to the talents of individuals who are more than three times their age when they are asked to accomplish their musical studies. This DVD will help encourage young students into believing that it is possible to achieve musical excellence at a young age.
Hey man it was good to see yr show the other night, when did you post tune w/ justyn up there? that's some nice veiney shit. I han't heard that one before.
