| About Landor Records |
Landor Records was formed with the slogan ‘making new music, making old music new’. At Landor, a new ‘artist led’ company, we are not simply concerned with the processes of recording the artist, releasing and marketing the CD, and waiting for it to find its place in the catalogue, but are building a ‘roster’ of ‘Landor Artists’, tailoring our approach to the artists’ needs, and also providing a support network and assisting in the continuing promotion of their careers.
The first generation of ‘Landor Artists’, all of whom have something new to say in classical music, includes the hugely talented young pianist Simon Lepper, described in Opera magazine as ‘one of the most gifted and enterprising of his generation’. We plan to build a significant programme of song and chamber music around Simon. Other artists include tenor Andrew Kennedy, pianist Libor Novacek, the Arada Guitar Duo, pianist Evelina Puzaite, countertenor Lawrence Zazzo and the Pavão Quartet, all of whom have released critically acclaimed recordings on Landor Records. In addition, through the launch of The Landor Competition, the first of its kind anywhere, many potential stars of the recording profession, of all ages and from all over Europe, are making their presence felt.
