Hailing from Dallas, Texas, Lane Howard is a singer/songwriter who blends flattop picking and old world harmonies to create a signature, acoustic sound reflective of traditional, musical styles. Lane Howard is a self-taught musician, whose skills and talents playing the guitar, dobro, mandolin, ukulele and piano frame the innovation behind his thriving career.
Early in life, Lane garnered the notion that as human beings we all have shared experiences. Lane illustrates these experiences as they stem from the situations and circumstances that frame everyday life. Chasing the layers of his artistry, Lane moved to Los Angeles, finding an array of opportunities to perform live at various coffee house and music festival venues. These experiences led Lane to securing a publishing deal with NBC Television writing background music for their new daily entertainment news program, Access Hollywood.
Leaving LA, Lane relocated to Austin, Texas settling comfortably in the vast Austin music scene. Influenced by The Delmore Brothers, Kate Wolf, Willie Dixon, John Lee Hooker, Leo Kottke, Cab Calloway, B.W. Stevenson, Nanci Griffith, Muddy Waters, Tish Hinojosa, George Harrison, The Band, the great Gene Hughes and many, many more., Lane maintaines his determination to communicate a strong sense of feeling through his music.
