.... ........ .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. Lanemeyer was a band that formed from the ashes of NJ pop punk band Congress of Cow in the Fall of 1997. Founding members Chris Barker and Mike Doyle had decided to keep the band going by getting 2 new members and changing the name to Lanemeyer. They recorded 2 CD's that were put out by 2 independant labels Red Leader Records and Too Hep Records. There were quite a few members that came and went through the years after 8 tours of the East Coast and Mid-West and one full American tour. The band ended after 4 years of underground success. There have been many projects that have formed since Lanemeyer called it quits. We would like to thank all of the people who stuck with us through the years and who still to this day like to blast Stories for the Big Screen and If there's a Will There's Still Nothing on those hot summer days and lonely winter nights... The native-born Jamaican Marvin Anthony Burnett aka Sledgy was born in St. James at September, 27th in 1973.
At the age of sixteen he came with his brother to Germany to stay with his mother and live a better life. Shortly afterwards young Anthony got down with rapping.
To do music brings a lot of joy to him. Music is a great pleasure for Sledgy; he feels committed to make music.
It helped him through his hard time after his entry into Germany which was totally foreign to him at that time.
After he had rapped a long time for himself to take his mind off his worries, Burnett signed a contract with the label Power Jam Records.
With conclusion of the treaty his music career begins.
Under the name of Marvin Burnett he performs onstage (YOU) two times and at Funworld, Bodensee. Furthermore his music appeared on Radio K?ln and Radio 7.
For two years he has been under contract to Power Jam Records which is known as GUMAK Media e.K. today.
The Jamaican Burnett is also charitable. He gave many benefit performances, among others at K?lner Zoo, in a retirement home and not least at town hall in Cologne- Kalk.
