Humble, unassuming and engaging, Laney Murphy sings songs about urban life, self-deprecation, love, and naming and shaming the people she see on the streets in her daily life. It's observational, heartfelt stuff.

Having played around Liverpool for a number of years under various guises, Murphy has now begun to forge her own sound around new band members. Harnessing influences from as far afield as Guyana and er, Huyton, Murphy then blends this with her love of the likes of Al Green, Bill Withers and Aretha Franklin, resulting in a curiously intimate mix of ska and soul.
