Laney Amplification

About me:

Laney Amplification was founded in 1967 out of an obsession with music and electronics. Lyndon Laney was at school at the time and playing in several bands around the West Midlands of the UK. A fascination for tubes and a desire to make his own amplifier; partly out of interest but mainly out of economic necessity, bands did not make a lot of money in those days, led to the birth of Laney amplification on a kitchen table in his parents house. Lyndon started to get demands from fellow musicians for amplifiers and started to supplement his meager wages from playing in bands with amplifier sales... this was a good idea!! Then came the big decision; Lyndon had finished school education and had a place at University reading Electronic Engineering. Two days before he was due to go he decided to carry on for a couple of years making amplifiers, see how it went, and then go back to University later. Anyhow, 42 years have gone by and he still hasn't made it to University. The intervening years has seen Laney Amplifiers grow from a kitchen table industry into a multi-national amplifier manufacture with a range of products covering all musical styles and a list of user's and endorsees containing some of the most influential and respected players on the planet. Laney Amplifiers are continually evolving and meeting the demands of today's musicians.
