La Langoustine est Morte was established in July 2006 by poets Anthony Joseph & Sascha Akhtar as a series of evenings celebrating experimentation and innovation in poetics and fiction. The inaugural event was held at the Poetry Cafe in London on July 31 2006 and featured readings by Jamika Ajalon, Sascha Akhtar, Carolina Diaz, Anthony Joseph & Ronnie McGrath.
One aspect of the first evening was engaging the well-wishers who had come out in a game of Exquisite Corpse. (We have scanned these pieces, please enjoy. Included in My Pictures is one that Sascha Akhtar and Nofil Naqvi did just before the event, in anticipation...please feel free to use the My comments to start one yourself) Perhaps in the fourth we shall do this again

Limited edition booklets featuring works by all writers who have appeared are also available, email for details.

Richard Makin is a writer of fiction and poetry and a visual artist. Experience his language as a complex and haunting landscape to drift across. Carillon is an experimental sound performance by artists Dawn Scarfe and Mel Gough. Guitars are tuned to resonant nodes in cymbals to produce a rich bell-like sound. The aim is to investigate accents and textures within the spectrum of resonant sound in immersive and meditative live exploration. Expect from this afternoon completely new stances on language, music and performance!
