All my amazing musical friends
and everything and everyone else I encounter...
I write songs about the strange and beautiful moments in life. They capture my imagination and drive me to put pen to paper and voice to microphone.
I’m inspired by music from a time gone. When ladies had their hair set at the salon, and gentlemen never left home without their hat.
My girl-guitar Betty, is one of my greatest confidants, we enjoy performing to all kinds, hopefully to you too one day!
My dad plays and sings old blues, jazz and folk music and taught me some old classics when I was a young’n. He is an antiques restorer. I think that’s why I love anything old, and collectable. Gorgeous things other people don’t see as beautiful anymore.
Mum being a psychotherapist and feminist, helped shape my confidence in being an independent women (with appreciation for chivalry!).
I love my teacups, tattoos, vintage dresses, home cooked scones, making the bed after messing it up, and flowers. I love flowers.
Looking forward to the strange and beautiful moments to come! Hope you can be there to share them with me....
G'Day Lanie, I did very much, thanks. Parts were Fiona Apple-ish which is OK by me. Sorry it took a bit to write back, been very busy releasing debut album, Baby Making Music. Please check it out if you get a chance.
Good luck with the ep recording. would love to come to the launch! I'm not going on tour yet - just watching the tour de france. It's going through Montpellier tonight where I lived for a while so will be bittersweet to watch. where are you recording?
Fortunately I dont have twitter or facebook. I got off that bandwagon ages ago, just MySpace only. It's enough, I find MySpace is more catered towards artists anyway.
Work is going well, quiet at the moment but it can only get better. How about yourself? Your interview with Vera was a classic btw, she's a spinout!
