Biography

Lank alias Peter Golyan is one of the most talented and most wanted Hungarian producers/DJs from the new generation. Thanks to the impact made on him by folk, classical and electronic music, he has an eclectic style, his tracks range from chill-out to tech-house. With several compositions behind, he joined Strictly!, one of Hungary’s most ambitious party series in 2002. From that year on we can talk about him both as a DJ and a producer, who is well-known throughout the country now. Nonetheless his young age, he has already made many people dance from the heath to crowded clubs. He has played at almost every popular venue in the country beside many world famous DJs like Swayzak, Quivver, Shiloh, Jimmy Van M, Eelke Kleijn, Anthony Pappa, Özgür Can, Terry Lee Brown Jr, Johnny Orange, The Timewriter, Jeff Bennett. His tracks were published on several occasions in 2003-2004 on compilation CDs (Strictly! Collection, Quasar – Together/Sandal Wood Remixes 2004), and mix CDs as well. His work gets more and more recognized outside the Hungarian progressive scene too, and several of his tracks appear on international DJ charts. In 2005 he became one of the official DJs of the starting JustMusic.fm internet radio where the Strictly! team has a weekly show, called Strict Thursday. In the same year he made a remix for Snake Sedrick's Fields by Pure Substance Records, and a great interpretation for Mb Project’s 60 days with great feedbacks and playlists all over the world. His name appeared in well-known internet radios like Frisky Radio, Proton Radio and in the Greek Danceradio.gr as well. 2006 brought new challenges and opportunities to our little hero. Several labels are interested in Lanks new tracks all over the world. His track called Cowboys Again came out at John ’Quivver’ Graham’s BozBoz label. It was a big step in our guy’s career as this release was supported by such artists like Sasha, Anthony Pappa or Sander Kleinenberg. In the same year his Capnoscope EP, which was released at the Turkish No Smoking Records, gained similar successes, especially the Spiders On My Speakers that was collected on the Anna Maria X Sleepless Drive album. He got some invitations to abroad first time in 2007, and he played in Romania, Russia and Serbia. Going on the good cooperation with BozBoz Recordings, the Riverview/Dumbness EP came out at the label. This release reached many progressive house charts and was supported by Nick Warren, Danny Howells, Steve Lawler or Luke Fair. Snake Sedrick’s remix for his Being Defences, that came out at Tilth Music, was released also on the famous Black Hole Recordings Opus compilation album. In 2008 he made more and more tracks and remixes, and kept on touring and played almost every place in his country. Due to this, he became a very popular person in Hungarian electronic dance scene. He joined the ILoveDeep team where he can share his deephouse and house calling with the crowd. His club-feeling oriented bomb tracks, the Wicked Soul and the Confrontation landed every progressive DJ’s bag, moreover the Hybrid put Confrontation on their SoundSystem 01 album as well. Then we can hear Lank’s new side on the slow and dark-toned, energetic Double Dub EP. After many successful releases, in the beginning of 2008 he started to work on an artist album for BozBoz Recordings, and from 2008 he co-works with Quivver on some new tracks. Always excited in any gigs and tries to give his grateful audience something from his energetic, progressive underground house music every weekend.
