   About Lansdowne Folk Club
We offer the finest in folk, acoustic, and blues music in the 20th Century Club, a Victorian-era jewel. It's also a great night out - and, like many of our regulars, you'll make new friends at these special Thursday nights. Most important, the artists we book are just fantastic. All right here, in a place many of them tell us is one of the finest venues in the Philadelphia area. The Lansdowne Folk Club, founded in 1993 is an all volunteer non-profit, 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to presenting folk, acoustic, and blues music. All folk club concerts take place in Lansdowne’s 20th Century Club, 84 S. Lansdowne Avenue, Lansdowne, PA 19050. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance $18 at the door. Home baked goodies and hot drinks are sold downstairs in our Cafe. No volunteer organization can stay afloat without the help of many volunteers. We have ours and they are gems. When you visit the club please say "Thanks" to our volunteers. RALLY AGAINST GREED: "Balance The Bucks" Concert in D.C.
Photobucket
“Balance The Bucks,” a free concert program to be presented on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., is slated for 2 pm Sunday, September 6. The unprecedented musical performance will feature artists from across the country on stage at the Sylvan Amphitheater adjacent to the Washington Monument.
The concert will feature a line-up of original tunes focusing on issues such as economic justice, redistribution of wealth, salary disparity, bailouts, foreclosures and the general impact of rampant greed.
Event organizer and host Delmark Goldfarb hopes to “try to punch a hole in the cloud of money influence which soothes and smothers the Capitol.”
For further details and/or to be a part of the sing-out, contact 503 708 7306; Del.Goldfarb@hotmail.com.

In early October I wrote one of my latest songs called, “Wall Street Bail Out Blues.” Within four days of writing it, a video crew captured me playing it on the street at Seattle’s Pike Place Market and posted their video on YouTube. That video has now reached the attention of a writer for The Wall Street Journal who is writing an article about those who have written songs about our tough economic times. His article will be published this week and I’m excited to read it.

Who knows where this might lead? Call me an optimist but I have a feeling that this could mean that a few more seconds of that elusive fifteen minutes of fame might be coming my way.

It ain’t the cover of the Rolling Stone but it’s not every day that a writer from a major worldwide news outlet seeks me out to talk to me about my songwriting. That’s a huge validation of my efforts at staying true to my vision. I must be doing something right.

Follow your dreams.
