Lao Tseu grew up in a family who introduced him to the pleasure of afro-american music. His father listened to jazz from Motow, New Orleans, New York ; his mother to Soul, Funk. Naturally, he starts to learn piano, saxophone, and developps his artistic skills in drawing and writing. He spends his teenage years discovering blues, jazz, rock. And, quite by chance, the first time he listens, with his great friend Oyo, on Radio Dijon Campus, a program presented by DJ Sly, David Lagon and Christ of Noise, his life changes radically. From that moment, he finds his second wind in electronic music. These Djs lead him to discover the mythic club, l'An-Fer in Dijon. And the revelation occurs the night he listens to Derrick May there, at l'An-Fer club. Lao Tseu, in love with electronic music, decides to be a proper protagonist of this culture, and becomes a DJ. Jeff Mills and Laurent Garnier will only confirm his choise.
Lao Tseu starts to mix music from Detroit, influence from artists such as Derrick May, Laurent Garnier, Juan Atkins, Ron Trent, Jeff Mills, Carl Craig, Aril Brikha, Samuel L, Joris Voorn and more. Lot of labels influence him such as Transmat, UR, Axis, F-com, Bpitch, SLS, Motech and more ; he searches his universe.
After this first step, something was missing to this artist. He starts to compose and to live act thanks to Olivier Kaiser and Olivier Saint Denis. He expresses himself with conviction.
His live sets are tainted with sound of Detroit, as well as his live acts are inspired by role playing game, heroïc fantasy, comics and ethnic music. He tries to create a music as much organic as mental.
Naturally, he creates Konectic, an association whose aim is to promote local artists who see things the same way, and to propose good and groovy music. Since the begining, Konectic has organized many events and presented several artists.
He only wishes to keep and communicate his sensibility and the light that inhabitates him since his magical meeting with this culture.
Since he plays in lot of places in Europe and on the world. He plays in 2 other concepts : the greatcompairs duo and Pekin Hotel group. He created in the "Greatcompairs duo" a radio show on altaego web radio.

Bon d'accord, je suis le premier à utiliser du "MP3" pour diffuser mes Gaomix mais c'est du stockage. Le son d'un disque ne dépend pas de l'artiste mais de celui qui le fait(mastering). Autrement dit, il y a autant de son que de type qui savent transformer le langage des machines en un son précis et qui leur appartient.C'est pourquoi les disques ne se ressemblent pas.Et tout cela, compressé à néant dans un seul langage informatique, à force de manger du mp3, du flac ou du "beatport sound" qu'es ce que l'on fait de cette diversité. De la Drum'n bass sans infra bass, de la techno qui a autant de puissance qu'une sonnerie de portable, voilà la musique du future, de la musique de distributeur de banque. Serato, Final scratch, mp3, beatport sont ils les cancers du son? c'est la question qu'il faut se poser.
