STORY OF « LA PHAZE »
La Phaze are 3 young people from Bretagne whose blood is filled with energy and anger: Damny, Arnaud and Rouzman . They found a unique way to melt electro music with acoustic elements, dance music with heavy guitars. They do not hesitate any longer between rock and dub, defend their own unique style with conviction and faith... Concert after concert they explore their own style further, gives 'pungle style' (explosive mixture of jungle, drum'n'bass, raw punk energy) new perspectives. The whole La Phaze story began a few years ago, when Manu Chao met the duo in Larzac as they were amongst other irreducible rebels. Manu Chao quickly packed his stuff and took La Phaze with him in Brazil for a dozen of concerts. Near Toulouse, another soil of anger, Hakim & Mouss (from Zebda) did not hesitate a bit and got into recording session with the band, adding a raging revolt to the very expected "Fin de Cycle". Two involved citizens of the world, La Phaze courageously fight for humanism, write about politics without false appearances or lies... “Fighting is the only way not to be strangled by massive consumption and fading consciousness...” Their social involvement led La Phaze to launch a plural civic movement, entitled “Colère Noire” (“Black Anger”). With “Colère Noire”, La Phaze tried and found unique synergies between musicians, political actors, and civic movements. “Colère Noire” first edition happened February 2006, West of France. The event gathered thousands of people willing to change things, to fight against corruption, hypocrisy and the huge waste that industrials are causing. In 2005 La Phaze toured all around France and Europe. In all, more than 80 dates. They rocked Paris of course, where they gave three tremendous gigs, but also Marseille, Toulouse, Montpellier, Angers, Rennes, Clermont Ferrand... They also played in Spain, Germany and Belgium for their energy and conviction convey a message that goes beyond words. Concert after concert La Phaze attracted more and more. A true live phenomenon, they manage to gather people from all horizons to have them fight for the same cause... But this was only the beginning... La Phaze is willing to never give up.
