About me:
I have owned my own retail business for 30 years. I have owned and operated The Lapis Bear Jewelry Store since 1991, the first 10 years being in the Tahoe City location at Lake Tahoe, and of course most recently in Reno, NV. Over the years I have developed a taste for certain looks, mostly clean, contempory designs that highlight the beauty of the featured stone, or stones. To go along with that, I like stones of good color that are well cut. I tend not to get involved in the trendy fashions but rather classic styles that will endure. So over the years I have assembled a stable of artisans that fit my criteria, who are good, reliable, and maintain a high level of quality, which means I will never be the lowest price around, but will offer something of lasting beauty and quality that gives you good value for the dollars spent. I also have a deep rooted love for the Southwestern native Americana arts and crafts, having served for two years on the board of directors of the Indian Arts and Crafts Association in Albuqurque, N.M. My involvement in that community afforded me the opportunity to work with some of the better artisans in the Southwest.
In conclusion I am always looking for new and innovative artisans that will offer the buying public something different from the mainstream. I sincerely hope you enjoy what we have to offer.
