Bio
Lapis Lazuli is a collective of musicians unified by a concept of music unbound by the limits of musical pigeon-holing, and brought together by the willingness to fuse and transverse genres from across time and space. Bombastic beats and global grooves are combined with a rich tapestry of texture and melody created by the twin guitars, flute, trumpet, digeredoo and synth sounds, re-telling ancient stories from the vault of their collective influences. Live, Lapis likes to jam freely around the framework of the songs, including extended grooving improvisations punctuated by obscure angular and melodic passages with a childlike naivety towards its eclectic variety of styles. Lapis erupted in its current form in winter '10 after a 3 year hiatus, when Multi Instrumentalist Dave Brittain joined forces with Adam Brodigan (Drumman), Jody Miller (Bass), Jim Robinson (Guitar) and Neil Sullivan (Guitar) who had previously formed in early 2005 and subsequently disbanded after only one show in early 2007. Lapis loves to play festivals, open jamming superhighways and cubby-hole venues alike and enjoys bringing people together in a fusion of music, love and diversity. -

Hi and thanks,
I have listened to quite a lot of Soft Machine in my time but I think the Canterbury link is quite coincidental, as we listen to lots of different music. Would love to gig with you one day if possible. X - King Mojo of Sheffield …2 years ago

Thoroughly enjoyed gig at Casey's the other week. Will pop down to Ramsagte on sat 9th. Proper music. Bit surreal to see all those "gong esque" types. Like a timewarp back 30 years...but superb, especially the percussion.
I love the "Void" - it lifts my spirits.................NK Live the dream, you got something special!- Lapis Lazulli2 years ago
Thanks Nick, it's great to get some feedback..to lift spirits is indeed a high accolade! ..see you tomorrow..
