Growing up just north of San Francisco, Lara learned from an early age about singing and performing by touring each summer with her dad and his band, the Doobie Brothers. At age two Lara started joining the band on stage during the song Listen To The Music. At age three Lara started what would turn out to be a thirteen year career of studying classical ballet. Lara performed in many Nutcracker Ballets over the years in front of crowds of two thousand. She also began singing very early on. As early as second grade, Lara was performing songs during assembly at school and singing solos at church for holiday services.
RECENT NEWS: 2008 Lara has finished her demo and hopes to secure a recording contract soon so she can spend the rest of her life doing what she loves most, singing.
In October of 2008, Lara returned to perform again at the Bruce Cohn Fall Music Festival. This time she shared the bill with Lydia Pence, Tower of Power, Huey Lewis and the News, and the Doobie Brothers. Audience members who had been to her set the year before raved that her stage presence improved immensely and that she was ready to take on the big time.
2007 In January 2007 Lara performed in St Louis, MO for Tony Larussa's Animal Rescue Foundation. She sang two songs on her own and two duets with Michael McDonald backed by the St. Louis Choir. She received a standing ovation. During her Junior year of high school Lara also had the chance to sing with her school Soul Band at Golden State Warriors basketball games.
2006 In October, 2006 Lara sang nine songs with a full band behind her at the Bruce Cohn Fall Music Festival which also featured The Doobie Brothers and Willie Nelson. The concert went so well that in November Lara was invited to perform as a special guest at a Doobie Brothers/Willie Nelson concert in Maui.
During her first two years of High School, Lara was in the choir. At the same time, Lara was flying back and forth to Los Angeles to film a television pilot presentation called The Moon Girls. During the summer of 2006 Lara performed "Chain of Fools" at the USA Showcase. She was a first place singer. For the rest of the summer Lara spent her time in Los Angeles taking private singing and acting lessons.
