I enjoy creative philosophy, ancient religious theory, and just generally chillin'. I have a daughter I adore and she takes up most of my energy. I like it when my home is alive with candles and chatter, music and great food. Discada and Tecate with Lime while we play oldies on a Sunday afternoon...sigh...Putting together art shows, performing poetry and wearing my feather earrings.
Music
I love me some live Radio La Chusma, huge fan of Mexicans at Night. Native music, Oldies, Mana and The Cure. I can cry at the sound of some really good Mariachis, add some tequila and forget it.
Television
Stuck on tried and true classics. Simpsons, Seinfeld reruns...
Books
The Bible, Books on Folk Healing, History, Neruda. Poems and Bum Rush the Page. Rumi .
Heroes
Jesus. My parents. Frida. Pablo Neruda. Confucious. Lalo Guerrero, Rosa Guerrero. My amazing community here in Sunset Heights. My amazing and talented fiance' who gives me love every day.
About me: I'm a Chicana Performance Poet born and raised in El Paso, TX. I'm on Myspace to promote my work and meet other like minded people, poets, artists. I'm most interested in politics, comedy, religion. Not necessarily in that order.
“La RaNa’s performance poetry celebrates what it’s to be Latina, and what it’s to be human. Her words weave a tapestry of her history, her struggle, her hopes and self-determination into one Urban Vernacular. She’s a healer of lost souls.”-Bruce George, Co-Founder of Def Poetry Jam
Who I'd like to meet: I love to meet funny, creative people. Other Chicana artists, poets, philosophers, art lovers, or anyone I've somehow lost touch with.
it speaks of a reality a reality of non existing matter a place where one can hear taste touch and smell colors a forth dimensional existence of a subconscious en devour. a place where you can hear taste and touch smell where everything is nothing and nothingness fills the soul with everything. A certain existence that speaks without the essence of fear and love. a universal existence that is for the sake of been in an overtone where complete silence isn't isolated from reason. a cosmic clash with the human spirit where things come into oneness with all.

In the year 2007 Sour Soul was formed and its’ members are David (drums & bass), Marco (vocals, bass, sitar, piano & Hammond), Juan Ra (vocals, rhythm guitar & banjo), Javi (lead guitar & bass), and Nico (drums & percussion).
The band’s musical genre is rock with elements of psychedelia from the sixties and also lots of funk, pop, and contemporary rock.
During the Winter of 2007, the band went to Sonic Ranch Recording Studios in El Paso, Texas (http://www.sonicranch.com), and recorded "Frantic" and "Alucinar", two songs produced by Ettore Grenci. In the Summer of 2008, seven songs followed the list; this time, Stephen Stuart Short (Paul McCartney, Echo and the Bunnymen, David Gilmour, Queen, Grateful Dead, Genesis and Peter Gabriel…) was commissioned to produce the material and that’s how the band’s debut album was conceived: Liquid Sky Divers.
Now, in Spring 2009, Sour Soul visited Sonic Ranch for the third time to add four new tracks to the album that were produced entirely by the band and thus, the recording sessions of Liquid Sky Divers were complete. The album’s reissue will be launched soon.
