Made a demo on Tascam Porta 07 in '97."Iceman" & "Exotic Particles" are takem from this...
Sent it to 5 favourite labels.
Signed to City Slang records in '99.
Released "A Universal Hello" one sided etched 180gram 12" and "Larmousse" album in 2000.
Got lots of nice reviews form the likes of The Independent, NME, The Times, Mojo, MM, The Wire, Q, Uncut and The Daily Express reviewed us and Ricky Martin that day...
Could'nt play any shows as we could'nt find a band (and stage fright).
Recorded a song for a Lee Hazelwood tribute "Total Lee", but it turned out not to be one of his songs...
Tried to make a second record at home, with friends, but it remains unfinished in every sense.
For the curious "Unclear Demo" is from these aborted efforts, fill in the gaps yourself...
Life happened, and radio silence.
You never know though...
Until now. Larmousse have reformed with my friends Steven Cossar (Pioneers of Anaesthetic, Plates) on guitar and vocals, and David Gow (Sons & Daughters, Arab Strap) on drums. The guys have added a lot to the dynamic, and have been integral in forging our new sound. We have an albums worth of new material ready to go, and hope to have it recorded before the end of year. The direction is different, more organic and loose, but the Larmousse sound is still in there. Expect live appearences aplenty very soon indeed.
Cheers for the add! Got the album the day it came out after hearing the City Slang sampler and been hooked since! So glad you're working on new material!
Hey larmousse, thanx for the add. Since your release on City Slang I didn´t hear anything of you. Your music is really awesome-keep it up and come to Germany.
Greetz from Hamburg. Nils.
