MTV Raps, what people sometimes call pop-rap, Reason, the production in modern rap (but not the lyrics!), cassettes, Steve Winwood’s "Higher Love", Mint Cafe, cucumber water, Roland Fantom, animals, bad keyboards, leaving each other dumb voicemails in bad accents, bad horror movies, documentary films, indie movie theaters, "Rhythm Is A Dancer" by Snap!, hummus, 90’s alt-rock, sunshine, summer, Shawshank Redemption, Upright Citizens Brigade, House Party, Aqua Teen, tea, ghetto tea, Mongolian Barbeque, Taco Bell, Record Den’s tape bin, late night Guy’s Pizza runs, laughing, shitty cars, ice cream at 2am, World Market, booty bass, thinking we can sing, t-shirts, classic country, touring, embarrassing each other while grocery shopping by saying shit like "do WE need milk?", getting our own LRI track jackets, Jimmy Johns, girlfriends, mothers, rocking out, Toronto, Dj Shadow, and a bazillion other things.
Sounds Like
We sound like alot of different things. We aren't close minded. There's something for everyone on our roster. We gravitate towards hip-hop, but it's a different type of hip-hop. We don't back music that sticks a knife in the heart of rap. It's time that people see that hip-hop isn't just what they hear on the radio. It's an artform that's basically being murdered by the mainstream. You may hear some of our artists and say "that's not hip-hop". But, you'd be wrong. We'll school your ass. We also dabble in electronic music, rock "ish" type stuff, and even weirdness like chip tunes. We don't strive to make #1 hits (though no doubt we'd embrace it), just music people can respect and enjoy. Word.
12 Deep was a blog series designed to spotlight the artists who appeared on the Necker Cube 2 compilation. We will do this again in the future for Necker Cube 3.

ABOUT US
LRI was formed by Johnny La Rock (Eddie Fleisher) as a plan to help promote his own projects as well as his friends' music. It's purpose is to expose GOOD music and to show people that there's really alot going on in Cleveland, if people would just look for it. It's like a collective that also happens to release music too. With so much to do, Fleisher joined forces with Aaron Donahoo (aka Mush Mouth) on the project, who acts as the label's VP - bringing his solid Sales skills to the mix. Mush is the social one, La Rock is the man behind the scenes. They make all major decisions together. Chris Mick (or chrismick) serves as the dude who helps Fleisher to make things sound good - CM is an audio genius. Vinnie Furman (aka FURFACE) designs amazing looking album covers, merch, and other things Fleisher (who also designs stuff) isn't fancy enough for. The DBA crew takes care of posting flyers everywhere. And, last but not least, Pugmaster Pokey acts as a security guard, although not a very good one :)
DEMOS
We are currently NOT accepting any demos, as our workload is going to be intense with upcoming releases. Sorry.
