| General | playing music, buying music, reading about music, going to see live music, tube stereo amps, audiophile turntables, vintage american made drums, new american made drums (Ludwig!!!!!), films, coffee, vintage radios, new and old vinyl records, mid-century modern furniture, fair-trade decaf coffee, meditation, vegetarianism, ethnic food, manual reel push lawnmowers, independent business/media, NPR, hiking/biking/running, our dogs (buster/sadie/and pagoda, all rescues!!!!!!), travelling to the city, travelling to the country, labor unions, progressive politics....... | | Music | I listen to a lot of different types of music and on vinyl as much as possible. I love rock, pop, indie rock, soul, r&b, country, alt. country, punk rock, blues, bluegrass, jazz, avant garde, classical, and contemporary music.

I love the art house and foreign stuff. | | Television | The Wire (the best thing I have ever seen), Austin City Limits, Curb Your Enthusiasm, the Office, 30 rock, Weeds, and most of the HBO shows. | | Books | "HARDCORE ZEN" is absolutely amazing! I also liked "This wheel's on fire" by Levon Helm, "High Fidelity" (and Nick Hornby in general), th Johnny Cash autobiography, "Born on the 4th of July" by Ron Kovic, "Miles", Cormac McCarthy, Jon Kraukauer, Daniel Clowes, Harvey Pekar (American Splendor), "This Band Could be your Life", the Malcolm X autobiography, Sarah Vowell, Howard Zinn. I just finished reading "The End of Faith" by Sam Harris and it was GREAT! I am currently reading "Johnny Got His Gun" by Trumbo. |

About me:
I have a degree in music education from Western Kentucky University, and a master's degree in percussion performance from the University of Michigan where I studied classical, jazz, contemporary chamber music, drumset, etchnic percussion, etc.
I have been fortunate enough to have performed with Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine/Audioslave), Pete Seeger, Sara Lee Guthrie, Kathy Fink and Marcy Marxer, Chris Isaak, Darryl Worley, Mark Wills, Kenni Thomas, Lester Chambers (the Chamber's Brothers), Jill Sobule, Joe Glazer, Donald Byrd, Amelia White, Byron Stripling, Free Flight, with numerous symphony orchestras, and I have played drums on two middle east USO tours to Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.
I perform regularly with the roots rock/americana band, the U-liners (www.uliners.com), Little Pink (www.littlepinktheband.com), the Dan Roberts Trio/Band, the Matt Rippetoe group, the Jackfields, and with Anthony Pirog (www.anthonypirog.com). I can be heard on the Equillibrium, Azalea City, and Bossa Beats recording labels.
I live in the DC area with my wife of 7 years and 3 rescue dogs and soon will have a daughter.
