Since moving to the bay area in 1984, I've had the good fortune to have extended tenures working with Margie Baker, Jules Broussard, Al Molina & Frank Passantino. I have also shared the stage with Frank Wess, John Handy, Pharoah Saunders, Mark Murphy, Harvie S, Richie Cole, Hal Stein, Nate Pruitt, Sylvia Cuenca & Vince Lateano. I've performed in locales ranging from neighborhood pubs, to luxury hotels and this area's premier jazz venues like Yoshi's, Pearl's, Stanford Jazz Workshop and the Monterey Jazz Festival. I studied briefly at the Berklee College of Music, with Bobby Bradford at Pomona College, and with Mark Levine. I took extensive lessons with Don Haas, Dick Hindman, Peter Horvath and Charlie Shoemake.
Man, look at all these gigs you have. Armacost came over for the anual west coast tour (which this year turned out to be one gig). Hope to hear you soon.
I was at the Hyatt for brunch this morning and heard you'all...great show. It never seemed to work out for me to come up and say hello...we were far from the band area, and when I was close you either had disappeared on break or were in the middle of a solo. Give my best to Jim Zimmerman...we used to play together many yrs ago.
haha yeah, i guess it is. Ever since I got a facebook I barely go on this anymore. I use my facebook mainly for personal stuff though, cuz it seems like myspace is still better for music.
so i just got 'turn out the stars', and it is WACK. bill is unbeelivable on that cd and marc johnson plays POWERCHORDS on his solo in nardis. way cool.
haha I think it just lets you put 6 on now, but I guess you already figured that out :] The new one on my page is Have You Met Miss Jones. Oh and wow, I didn't know there was a verse to Foolish Heart! You definitely got to show me sometime. Hey it was cool to see you at the Jazzschool on Sunday. Sorry I didn't get to hear you play. I hope we'll have a chance to play sometime.
Hi Larry! It was great as always to see you the other night and what a delicious treat to have you sit in! You sounded wonderful and both Ken and I enjoyed your playing tremendously.
