About me: International legendary celebrity impersonator, Larry Edwards is an entertainer's entertainer! To prove it, our countries most famous Mayor, Oscar Goodman, recently awarded Larry the prestigious key to the city of Las Vegas! During the ceremony, the mayor said “I don’t give the key to the city to just anyone. It’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly.” Being the positive roll model and goodwill ambassador Larry Edwards has been as he traveled the world over the years, the mayor knew it was a perfect match!
However, doors have always swung wide open for this amazing talent even without a key. Originally from Fort Myers, Florida, Larry knew at an early age that his life was bound for greatness. After graduating from Fort Myers Senior High, he majored in fashion merchandising at Massey Jr. College in Atlanta, Georgia. However, the bright lights and neon marquees of Las Vegas called his name. Larry answered that call and millions around the globe responded making him the critically acclaimed entertainer he is today.
After a widely successful run in the Los Angeles production of La Cage Aux Follies Cabaret, where he portrayed the illusion of Tina Turner, the East Coast called! It was Bally's Park Place Casino in Atlantic City. Soon after Larry found himself in Las Vegas at the Riviera Hotel performing in "An Evening at La Cage," a role that continued for over eight years.
Larry's career has taken him far beyond the stage. Millions of viewers have seen Larry featured on such programs as “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” "Entertainment Tonight," "Donahue," "The Leeza Show," and several now famous appearances on "Sally Jesse." He’ even made his way on Oprah as she interviewed his alter ego, the real Tina Turner. Famous Shock Jock Howard Stern calls Larry to appear on his program regularly. “ In spite of all this success, Larry says the highlight of his career was when he was chosen to make a cameo appearance in the Academy Award nominated movie, "What’s Love Got To Do With It" - The Tina Turner Story.
Larry can currently be seen in the hit movie starring Sandra Bullock – Miss Congeniality 2. Keep your eye out, because you never know where Larry will suddenly appear next! Or, you can meet Larry in person as the VIP Host at Piranha Nightclub.
Larry , I must say thank you very much once again for the tickets to the show last night for my birthday!! The show was the icing on the cake for my birthday yesterday evening!! I really enjoyed all the performers. You were fabulous as always as Tina Turner. I remember you when you were in the movie that Angela Bassett did about the life of Tina in 1993. Of course, your cameo role as Patti Labelle impersonator in the movie "Miss Congeniality 2" was also remarkable!! I was wondering do you ever still impersonate her? I remember you did an amazing performance as Patti at Gipsy Night Club in 1998 for Toni James Show on a Thursday. Another great and funny part of the show last night was you doing your comedy act of Beyonce's song "Single Ladies(Put A Ring On It)".
