Music
All ROCK, All THE TIME!! I've heard a lot of different genres of music and stuff they say is music. I know the lyrics of so many country gold hits of the 60's. I like some of the classic R&B stuff....but my blood runs with the 70's classic rock era. Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Queen, Rush, Styx etc....you get the idea. All the great southern rock bands. I've seen all these bands at least once. My collection runs from LP to 8-track/cassette...yea, don't laugh, a lot of it is worth some bucks!! LOL ...all my old equipment works like brand new....to CD's and concert DVD's. I've even managed to hook up the absolute best Pink Floyd tribute band in the USA...Us And Them of Houston...with Baton Rouge's Varsity Theatre. Many really great 90's to now bands too. Mostly Autumn, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, Tool Audioslave, Godsmack, Alice in Chains, etc. UK progressive rock is great! U2..MY IRISH BAND!! International online streaming radio is worth a listen. At least until the FEDS screw that up. And sorry, not a fan of rap, gruntgrowlragenroar, deathmetal.
Movies
LOTR!! Tolkien fan since kidhood! I like well-done scifi stuff....so much of it is crap, but there are well made movies out there. Imagination on the big screen is entertainment for me!! Favorite actors are Harrison Ford, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Kate Beckinsale, Christian Bale.... Comedy? The 3 Stooges, Jay and Silent Bob, Dave Chappelle, Jim Carrey... to name a few
Television
Sci-Fi, Discover, History Channel, National Geographic, A&E, F/X, Comedy Central. TBS, USA, TNT. Foxnews, other less mainstream news sources. Local news/sports/weather. ESPN, College football, NFL, college baseball, MLB.
Books
JRRTolkien..absolute best writer!! Michael Crichton, Anne Rice, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, Greg Iles, Lyn Marzulli are some, I've got a pretty good collection. And all the great classic authors....Scott, Dickens, Hawthorne, E A Poe
Heroes
The average joe who busts his hump everyday for those he loves. That's heroism. More pointedly, our soldiers, police, firemen who risk all for everyone else's sake. Also, the people with Myspace who can and do put an end to scammers on Myspace.
About me: Wow, what's a person to do.... Doors close, new ones open, so much to do. Priorities are what they are, we take care of our responsibilities, we've all lived and learned....now, it's about living the dream, visiting the places we've read and written about, fulfilling promises made to yourself when, as a kid you just knew you were going to go there and everywhere you were ever drawn to in books and film. Plans to be made, people you involve in your life and ideas, those new doors beckon daily. Getting close to that wonderful day when the world will open the doors to all its mysteries and nothing will be hidden anymore. Just a dream??? I think not. Never border your dreams. We only go around once...when you've done with your obligations, then it's time to treat yourself....only you know what it's going to take....
