The great songwriters...Lately, I can't enough of Sufjan Stevens. One hell of a songwriter. Kate Rusby, Beck, Innocence Mission, Eliza Gilkinson, Steve Earl, any one who can write a meaningful lyric and sound like they mean it. Is Dave Hardin still around? Man, he could write a song! My friend, J Oscar Bittenger up in Grand Rapids, Sly & the Family Stone, The Staples Singers (Mavis...ah, Mavis), Emmy Lou Harris is probably the voice I'll hear on the way to heaven, Jake turned me on to the Buddha Bar stuff. Gil Scott Heron, cuz the revolution will NOT be televised, baby!....plus my old school...Cat Stevens, Neil Young, Kate Bush, Peter Gabriel, Yes, Joni Mitchell. Really dug the latest Faithless CD...loving world music more & more....
Anyone who can write a song that means one damn thing. Good poets, good movers and groovers. I hope I'm one of them on a good day.
Quickie Bio & the Basics for busy people:
Larry has been writing songs for absolutely ever. He writes about the stuff you've got going on. Love, Life, Joy, Loss and the path we're all on. He's been noted for his passionate, furious vocals and innovative acoustic 12 string guitar style. Larry digs deep on every song and that's why we listen. He writes the songs that get under skin and stay put.
He hails from Grand Rapids, Michigan just like Gerald Ford but you shouldn't let that trouble you. He’s played a zillion places & made a lot of friends. He makes his home in Hudson, Florida now in the Tampa Bay area. Oddly enough, he really misses snow.
Larry had been writing & performing the last few years with the groovy improv zen band Hazard Factor with guitar wiz & pal Dave Eichenberger and they have two CDs out together (Digging for Stars, 2001 & Primordiance, 2003). Hazard Factor has gone away, but LR keeps writing.
Currently, he's working on the next CD which is titled "the next CD" (just kidding. He's still working on the title) and is nearing completion. So far, he has more songs than he can handle. "I'd love to but all these great songs on the next disc, but I'm gonna have to make some tough choices. I'm trying to whittle 30 songs down to 15 or so." In any case, the next CD will be a great value as it will definitely have a lot of tunes crammed on to it. Some of these tunes are rotating in and out of LR's website, so be sure to sneak over there for an advanced peek!

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.

Hey Larry Hope all is well with you. Ive been learning how to play congas. Will be out soon to jam with you guys. Would like to play along with you one day.
I'm so so so sorry. I had the songwriter night @ BB McGee's in my schedule since you let me know about it. I really wanted to go, but instead of getting to go listen to you play like I wanted to I had to go to Best Buy and fight over a 2 day old computer that was not working so that I could have a working computer here when Brighthouse got here to hook my internet. So that pretty much ruined my night. Again, I'm really sorry. Please keep me up to date on when you will be playing so that I can make it out to a show.
